So Newcastle get away from Rodney Parade still in the Cup. Really harsh on Newport.

Cooper misses. He skies the ball high over the bar.
Taylor misses. Gillespie saves.
Joelinton misses. Save by Townsend.
Twice Newport clear off the line in the closing moments as Fraser and Schar had shots at goal. Penalties here we come....
A last corner for Newcastle to try to grab a winner.
The impressive Twine is being replaced by Lewis Collins in presumably a penalty kick tactical move. A little strange as Twine looks by far their best striker of a ball.
The ball sits up well for Murphy who fires a decent effort at goal but Townsend parries away well.
Six minutes of injury time to stop us getting penalty kicks.
Nearly another as Wilson stretching at the ball can't keep his shot down.
GOAL! It looked like it wouldn't come but it did in style from Jonjo Shelvey. He twisted and turned leaving Wilmott on the turf before curling a superb effort into the stantion in the far right corner.
Murphy with another chance. Wilson plays Fraser in inside the penalty area and his cross is over the Newport defence but Murphy didn't think it was coming to him and the ball bounced off his chest into the welcoming arms of Townsend.
Shelvey's cross into the box is met by Wilson but it was too high for him to get a good connection on it.
Great, great challenge from Brandon Cooper to deny Joelinton when it looked like the Newcastle strike was set to slot the ball home. He looked second favourit bit his desire got him there.
Wilmott and Taylor come on for Bennett and Amond for Newport. Fresh legs much needed you would think.
Manquillo has a fantastic opportunity and ample time to put a cross in but he fires the ball out for a goal kick.
Murphy has yet another shot at goal. It is a good opportunity even on his left foot but although it had a nice shape to it, Townsend didn't look like he was that worried.
Newcastle looked like they had a chance on the break but Lewis' cross in a good position adjacent to the eighteen yard box is tame and easily cleared.
Fabian Schar comes on for Emil Krafth and immediately a corner ricochets off his head and goes just wide.
They are playing some good football Newport. Here Twine and Sheehan combine before Shephard's cross is deflected wide.
Twine seems to have hurt himself when trying to dish out some retribution on Shelvey, but he should be fine to stay on.
Manquillo's cross finds Fraser at the back post and he heads down for Joelinton who just fails to get a shot away. It has been that kind of night for Newcastle.
Wilson lays off to Murphy who drives into the right hand side of the box but when a square ball back to the former Bournemouth striker seemed the best option he skewed a weak shot across the goal. And Wilson let him know about it...
Joelinton and Wilson come on for Carroll and Almiron. Steve Bruce shaking things up but who will create for them?
Both Newport players are good to carry on.
Two Newport players, Demetriou and Bennett, are injured in a clash of heads as they both tried to stop Andy Carroll
An innocuous ball through almost caught Newport out. Fraser could not get away a shot until he was close to Townsend and then Almiron fires the rebound against the Newport keeper.
Trouble for Newport early. Fraser's cross is over the top of Carroll in the middle but finds Murphy at the back post. Demetriou does brilliantly to block his first shot and then Townsend gets in the way of the rebound.
No changes so far for Newcastle as they restart the game.
They have come back into the game, largely due to the efforts of Jacob Murphy but Newcastle look in a perilous position now. And if there is one Premier League side you would fancy yourselves to keep a clean sheet against, it might just be the Magpies.
Amon takes a ball from Shephard down superbly in the box and smashes it on the half-volley but just off target.
Two minutes of injury time to be played.
Murphy has another decent effort, this time a low drive just past the far post.
Shepherd pulls a cross from Haynes back to Bennett but his effort just curls wide of the far post.
Fraser heads back a Manquillo cross into the path of Shelvey who swings a leg at the ball but barely gets any contact on it.
Amond just couldn't get a contact on a practised corner. The old Anderton-Sheringham one where the ball was rolled to him 12 yards from goal at the front post. His effort is easily cleared.
He's looked very assured Townsend. On this occasion he races out to dive on the ball ahead of Manquillo.
More pressure from Newcastle now. Longstaff fizzes a ball across the six-yard box and Fraser just doesn't get enough contact at the back post to steer home.
Murphy charges into the box after exchanging passes with Carroll but his last touch is heavy and allows Cooper to get a key challenge in.
Among gets a yellow card for a swinging arm which caught and bloodied Manquillo. No malice in it.
It will have been a demoralising watch from Newcastle so far. Only Murphy has come out of it with any credit so far.
Dolan curls the free kick over the wall put comfortably wide of the near post.
Twine is brought down 25 yards from goal in a central position.
Almiron goes down howling from a challenge from Abrahams. It looked like he sought the contact to me and well done to the referee for just awarding a free kick.
Jacob Murphy has two shots from long range in close succession, both better efforts than Abrahams' goal and both comfortably pushed away by Townsend.
Twine, on loan from Swindon, is an interesting player. Here hs picks out Bennett at the back post but he just fails to head back across the goal.
Not smart that from Shelvey, he clatters Twine from behind and picks up a yellow card.
Murphy the danger man once more. He puts a cross in that is deflected and Townsend had to push over his own bar.
Murphy again is allowed to get into the box on the right flank and he fizzes a ball across the six-yard box but no one in a black and white shirt is in the vicinity.
GOAL! Abrahams hits home and it is thanks to terrible goalkeeping from Gillespie who let his fairly tame 20-yard bouncing effort over him. It came after a superb dipping thirty yard effort from Twine came back off the bar.
Newport need to get tighter to Newcastle. Murphy has room to put a cross into the box that fell to Carroll in the box but he could not get a shot off.
Longstaff has an effort from 25 yards out. We know he can hit them from there but he gets way under it and it flies high over the bar.
Newport get us underway...
The eighth game in 25 days for Newport so they are certainly not rusty.
Newcastle are available at around 1/2 on to win tonight, with Newport backable at 6/1 and the draw perhaps a tempting 3/1. Remember it goes straight to penalties after 90 minutes.
Newport won the last game the two played 4-2 back in 1947 - you'd imagine they'd settle for that tonight. Perhaps more noteworthy is their recent Cup record which includes a 2-1 win over Leicester in the FA Cup last year.
Newport, who have started League 2 in great form with two wins out of three, have got two changes from the side who won at Bolton at the weekend, with Scot Bennett and Padraig Amond coming in for Joss Labadie and Tristan Abrahams.
Newcastle are starting with four players who began their game against Tottenham at the weekend: Javier Manquillo, Federico Fernandez, Miguel Almiron and Jonjo Shelvey, while Sunday's subs Jamal Lewis, Jacob Murphy and Andy Carroll are all in the first XI.
It looks like it will be slippery conditions at Rodney Parade. Very much in the favour of the underdogs you'd think.
And here are the hosts who are hoping to cause a major upset.
This is how the Magpies are lining up...
