DANGEROUS FROM LIVERPOOL
van Dijk is controlling play from defence with a good ball for Minamino that Lokonga makes a mess of, and the Dutchman gets the ball back and sprays wide for Alexander-Arnold, who wins the corner off Tierney. The delivery is dealt with at the near post and Liverpool regroup and reset from the back.

HOW WILL ARSENAL PLAY?
That's more of a difficult question. If we can take anything from their league visit to Anfield that resulted in a 4-0 defeat, they'll sit back and try to hit their hosts on the counter as Liverpool have become habituated to leaving gaps open in their backline as their complete wing-backs bomb on and leave their central defenders exposed, with Fabinho the only covering body. As such, the Gunners will look to swamp the midfield with numbers when anticipating that Milner and Henderson will drift into the half-spaces to apply numerical overloads out wide, and it will be up to Lakonga and Xhaka to stamp their authority on the engine room. Lacazette plays as the 10 because of his ability to receive the ball to feet and hold up the play, bringing team-mates into the attacking phase whilst holding off a tight marker. The Frenchman can then roll to either side and look to spread the ball to whichever flank offers the greatest opportunity. Nketiah starts up top to stretch the Liverpool centre-backs with his pace, and he will seek to peel off the back of Matip and into the left channel, creating room in the box for the onrushing Lacazette, Saka and Martinelli drifting inside.

HOW WILL LIVERPOOL PLAY?
Like they always do. High-octane, counter-pressing, ruthless. They may not have their main men up top to support Firmino, but Jota has displayed his finishing capabilities whilst Minamino loves playing in this competition. A workhorse midfield as per usual, with Milner and Henderson the shuttlers and Fabinho the deep-lying sitter, looking to break up attacks and start ones of his own, stepping into the move at times to add an extra body. He'll drop deeper between van Dijk and Matip to pick the ball up on the half-turn, so long as van Dijk hasn't already released Alexander-Arnold down the right flank or sprayed a diagonal towards Minamino or Firmino.

CEDRIC AND XHAKA START, OMARI HUTCHINSON ON BENCH
Mikel Arteta makes five changes from the side that fell in the third round of the FA Cup to Nottingham Forest last time out. Aaron Ramsdale is back in net, with Gabriel partnering Ben White again after Rob Holding's poor performance at the City ground. Nuno Tavares retains his place in the matchday squad despite his dissent after his substitution on half an hour against Forest, but his replacement starts here, Kieran Tierney. Cedric retains his spot at right-back as Takehiro Tomiyasu is out injured, and Granit Xhaka comes in for Charlie Patino to add experience alongside Albert Lokonga. Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka flank Alexandre Lacazette as the makeshift 10, and Eddie Nketiah leads the line. Expect Lacazette to work hard off the ball in more of a 4-4-2 shape alongside Nketiah, should Arsenal try and press Liverpool high.

FIRMINO, JOTA, FABINHO, TRENT AND VAN DIJK ALL START
Jurgen Klopp names his strongest back five with the usual suspects shielding Alisson; Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold flank Virgil van Dijk, who is back partnered by Joel Matip in the middle. In the engine room, James Milner joins Jordan Henderson either side of Fabinho, and the Brazilian's compatriot Roberto Firmino leads the line. Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino are off the wings.
