The ball pops up to the edge of the six-yard box; it's behind Origi, who improvises a brilliant flick with his heel to deftly lob the ball over Rudd and into the net! That's superb!

Earl and Whiteman combine down the left for Preston, but the return pass to Earl is overhit and it drifts out before he can get a cross in.

Van den Berg almost shins a Tsimikas cross behind for a corner, but Rudd races out to prevent it. Liverpool have quietly taken the sting out of this game since they scored, have Preston got anything left?

Bradley can shift. He goes on a 50-yard slalom down the right for Liverpool, only to overrun the ball in the penalty area and lose possession.

Preston have a brief spell on the edge of Liverpool's area, but Riis is offside as the ball ricochets forwards.

Liverpool lead and it was so simple. A long ball over the top finds Williams, who cuts back on himself, and then back to the byline, before crossing to the front post. Minamino, who has had a poor game, makes up for eveything by getting a glancing touch to send the ball into the far corner.

Preston break on Liverpool, and Raffety eventually lobs a cross to Barkhuizen, who volleys a trickler straight at Adrian.

Preston have been on the end of a few questionable decisions in the last few minutes, as Coote again waves play on as one of theirs hits the deck. The crowd aren't being shy in voicing their dissatisfaction.

A foul on Maguire by Minamino isn't called. Preston aren't best pleased, and Jones almost releases Williams over the top with a raking 50-yard ball. That would have been contentious had they scored.

Connor Bradley is on for Liverpool, replacing Blair. He slips into the right back position, and Neco Williams moves further forwards.
