Walsall have announced coach Jon Whitney is to take charge of first-team affairs following the departure of Sean O'Driscoll.
O'Driscoll parted company with the Saddlers on Sunday after only 16 matches in the job.
And the Sky Bet League One outfit released a statement on Monday afternoon which said first-team performance coach Whitney would be taking over.
It added that first-team coach Neil Cutler and professional development coach John Ward would be assisting Whitney ahead of Saturday's trip to Chesterfield.
There was no indication of how long the appointment was for, although reports have suggested it was on a game-by-game basis.
