Wigan closed the gap on Sky Bet League One leaders Burton to a single point with a 1-0 win against 10-man Rochdale that extended their unbeaten run to 18 matches.
Substitute Conor McAleny bundled home the winner midway through the second half at the DW Stadium after Rochdale striker Ian Henderson had been shown a straight red card in the 33rd minute for lashing out at Wigan defender Jason Pearce.
The Latics, who secured their third straight win, last tasted defeat in the league at home against Blackpool on December 12.

Scunthorpe extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with their biggest win of the season, thrashing Swindon 6-0 at Glanford Park.
