Mike Dean leads celebrations as Tranmere reach League Two play-off final

James Norwood struck his 32nd goal of the season as Tranmere drew 1-1 at Forest Green Rovers to set up a Wembley date with Newport County.

Dean watched his beloved Tranmere from the away end at The New Lawn as Rovers progressed 2-1 on aggregate, and was visibly animated in the terrace at the full-time whistle.

Having honed a reputation as a 'celebrity ref' during his time as a Premier League match official, Dean wasn't holding back in the celebrations as he balanced himself on top of a rail in the away end.

The Sky Sports cameras were quick to pick out the familiar face, who recently brandished his 100th red card in the English top flight.

Speaking afterwards, Rovers manager Micky Mellon said: "Mike loves his Tranmere. He comes in to see us a lot and I'm really pleased for him."

However it was Norwood’s goal after 27 minutes which proved decisive, earning a 1-1 draw on the night and a 2-1 victory on aggregate, while the hosts had Carl Winchester sent off midway through the second half.

All eyes will be peeled to see if Dean makes it to Wembley for the final on May 25.
