Sport reports the Koln defender fits Barca’s criteria for a full-back and would cost €18m after his impressive Euro 2016, being named in UEFA’s team of the tournament.
Barca have had scouts including Urbano Ortega following Hector over the last few weeks, including at the Euro 2016 semi-final between Germany and France, and Barca are expected to make a decision over the 26-year-old in the next few days.
The case of Portugal’s Raphael Guerreiro is cited as Barca hesitated over his signature and he instead joined Borussia Dortmund for €13m, and while there are cheaper alternatives to Hector, he is liked at Camp Nou.
