The 27-year-old, who has been at Barcelona for seven seasons, has finally decided that he is not happy playing second fiddle to the most fearsome strikeforce on the planet.
Spanish newspaper 'Sport' claims Chelsea will pay Pedro's €30m release clause - £21.6m - as soon as the presidential elections at Camp Nou are over.
Pedro's move will come as something of a surprise, since he signed a new four-year contract on the eve of the Champions League final this year.
'Sport' reports that Pedro rejected offers from Arsenal, PSG and Liverpool in order to do so, a decision that he is said to have made following a promise from Luis Enrique that he will have a major role next year.
But Jose Mourinho apparently then stepped in to intervene directly, reportedly making a phone call to the player that "made him rethink his future".
Then he apparently spoke to Cesc Fabregas, who swapped Barcelona for Chelsea last summer, and that made up his mind.
