The Welshman has been linked with a move to Manchester United, with Los Blancos said to be interested in bringing Kylian Mbappe to Spain from Monaco.
However, according to the Guardian, a move for the 18-year-old Frenchman will be postponed until next summer and Bale is happy to remain at the Bernabeu on a contract that expires in 2022.
With Cristiano Ronaldo set to turn 33 in February, Bale is seen as crucial to manager Zinedine Zidane, as part of the fabled BBC trident alongside the Portuguese forward and Frenchman Karim Benzema.
It is also possible that Barcelona could move for Mbappe, having sold Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for €222m, which would cement Bale's standing in Madrid.
United, however, will continue to monitor the 28-year-old's situation, with Don Balon reporting that Bale has told Luka Modric, his team-mate at Tottenham and now Madrid, that he is open to an Old Trafford switch.
Manager Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in a fourth signing of the summer – with Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic also a target – after adding Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof, and Nemanja Matic.
