The first Clasico of the season belongs to Real Madrid. Barcelona will feel aggrieved over the award of the penalty kick that allowed Ramos to put the visitors ahead, but in truth Zidane's men looked to be the better organised group of players. Koeman will face questions over his team selection and his reluctance to make changes from the bench.

FULL TIME: Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid
Real Madrid came into this game on the back of two straight defeats, but this will correct everything in Zidane's world. This has been a solid performance by Los Blancos. They have looked better coached.
Why did Koeman leave it so late to make changes to a team that was clearly growing weary in the second half? The Barcelona manager is going to come under scrutinty after this.
There will be five minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
- GoalLuka ModricReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 1 Real Madrid 3 (90 mins - Luka Modric). Three points in the bag for Real Madrid. There is no way back for Barcelona now. Neto comes out to tackle Vinicius, Rodrygo shows composure to find Modric, who takes his time and guides a finish into the back of the net! So calm when it mattered most.
Dembele over the bar! The French winger tries to take on Vazquez as he bursts into the box, but the Real Madrid man does well and Dembele can only clip a shot over the crossbar.
- OffJordi AlbaFC Barcelona
- OnMartin BraithwaiteFC Barcelona
Braithwaite on for Alba. Koeman is going for it now. Still time for Barca to salvage something.
That should have been it! How didn't the ball end up in the net? Ramos' volley was saved by Neto, with Varane heading the rebound wide when he should have scored Real Madrid's third.
Double save from Neto! That was the opportunity for Real Madrid to wrap this up, but the Barcelona goalkeeper makes a double save to prevent Kroos from finding the back of the net.
- OffMarco AsensioReal Madrid
- OnRodrygoReal Madrid
Oh and there's also a change for Real Madrid - Rodrygo comes on.
- OffSergio BusquetsFC Barcelona
- OnOusmane DembéléFC Barcelona
... and the third change for the Catalans sees Dembele come on for the final stages.
- OffPedriFC Barcelona
- OnFrancisco TrincãoFC Barcelona
... the second Barcelona change sees Trincao introduced for Pedri...
- OffAnsu FatiFC Barcelona
- OnAntoine GriezmannFC Barcelona
Finally, Koeman makes some changes to his team. On comes Griezmann for Ansu...
Koeman STILL hasn't made a change! We are still waiting. Griezmann is ready to come on down on the touchline. What is the Barcelona manager waiting for here? Really strange.
Chance for de Jong! The cross from Dest on the right side was a good one, de Jong had a free header six yards out, but the Dutchman headed into a Real Madrid player. Oh dear. That was an opportunity.
Messi freekick.. into the wall! It's just not happening for the Barcelona number 10 this afternoon. Messi had a freekick 25 yards out, but his effort strikes the wall and Real Madrid survive.
Barcelona have seen more of the ball in this second half, but the trouble with that is Real Madrid are finding more space to break into in behind. Los Blancos could score another.
At long last, it appears Koeman is preparing to make a change. There is just over 15 minutes left of this match and Barcelona need something to change the direction of things.
PICTURE: Ramos' penalty is the difference
Courtois gets away with one! The freekick delivery into the box from Messi on the left was dangerous, Courtois palmed it into a crowd of bodies, but Real Madrid make the clearance.
There is under 20 minutes left of this one, Barcelona are trailing at home in the Clasico, and Koeman has still to make a change off the bench. What is the Dutchman waiting for?
Chance for Coutinho! Courtois palms a cross into the box down to Coutinho, but the Brazilian's shot is blocked. Was there a handball in there? VAR has a quick look, but nothing in it for them.
Off comes Valverde, as expected, and on comes Modric in his place.
Valverde injury? This could be a concern for Zidane. Valverde is down on the ground injured and it appears Real Madrid are about to make a change. Modric is getting ready to come on.
It's surely time for Koeman to roll the dice with some changes on the bench. Barcelona have options on the bench. Griezmann would be an obvious choice, but they also have Dembele and Pjanic.
Ramos has now scored 24 penalty kicks in a row. He is exceptional from the spot, you have to say. Barcelona will argue Ramos should never have been given the chance from 12 yards out in the first place.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 1 Real Madrid 2 (63 mins - Sergio Ramos pen). Real Madrid have regained the lead at the Camp Nou and it's Ramos, who else? Neto was anticipating the Panenka from the Real Madrid captain, but Ramos rolls a low shot into the bottom left-hand corner. The award of the spot kick was a controversial one!
PENALTY KICK TO REAL MADRID! The referee points to the spot after a lengthy VAR review. Lenglet fouled Ramos in the box!
Still waiting for the referee's decision...
Penalty kick? The officials are taking a long, hard look at this. There might have been a foul on Ramos from Lenglet at the back post as a set piece came into the Barcelona box. Let's see...
Both managers have options on the bench. Pedri has struggled to get himself involved in the game. Could Koeman throw on somelike Griezmann or even Pjanic for Busquets?
There is a sense that Barcelona are turning the screw on Real Madrid here. They have had the better of the second half action. Coutinho should have bagged that last chance.
COUTINHO... into the side netting! What an opportunity for the Brazilian to give Barcelona the lead! Ansu played a perfect pass to Coutinho at the back post, but he sends his header into the side netting.
Should Messi have scored this in the first half?
So close from Ansu! The 17-year-old was played through by Messi, Ansu took his time and looked for the pass, but took the shot in the end. The effort flashes wide of the far post! Very close.
That's twice Ramos has won a header in the box from a corner kick. Pique is struggling when marking the Real Madrid captain from set pieces. Something to keep an eye on.
It appears Real Madrid have tightened up the space between their midfield and defence at the start of this second half. That means Barcelona have more time on the ball at the halfway line, though.
What will the second half offer? Of course, we saw two goals in the opening 10 minutes of this match. Both teams are capable of scoring goals and are vulnerable at the back.
The second half is under way at the Camp Nou! It's 1-1 between Barcelona and Real Madrid in this La Liga fixture.

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Barcelona 1-1 Real Madrid. A very entertaining first half comes to a close at the Camp Nou. Both managers will be relatively pleased, but who will have the conviction to go for all three points?
Vinicius in behind! The Brazilian was played in behind the Barcelona defence, Pique just about kept up with him, but Vinicius couldn't find a teammate in the middle. He wins a corner. It comes to nothing.
There will be two minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the half.
- OffNachoReal Madrid
- OnLucas VázquezReal Madrid
Interesting! Zidane is making a chance before the break, with Vazquez coming on for Nacho.
This is noteworthy!
You wouldn't say Messi has had a bad first half, but he has certainly been subdued. Will we see more from him in the second period? He's been out on the right wing so far this afternoon.
PICTURE: Is there anything Ansu can't do?
Dest has had a very good first half. The American international was faced with the task of stopping Vinicius there and he managed to do it with ease, winning the ball from the Brazilian.
- Yellow cardNachoReal Madrid
Nacho picks up a yellow card and that had been coming for the Real Madrid defender.
Alba has arguably been the best player on the pitch in this first half. He's been Barcelona's biggest difference maker down the left side where Nacho has struggled against him.
Huge tackle from Dest! Casemiro looked set to break through the Barcelona defence, but he allowed the ball to get away from him and Dest made one tackle on him and then another on Benzema.
What a pass from de Jong! It was the Dutchman who picked out Alba down the left side for Barcelona's equalising goal and he does it again here with a stunning pass from deep.
Of course, this is Koeman's first Clasico as a Barcelona manager. He played in plenty of these as a player, but being in the dugout is something different. Is he pleased with what he has seen so far?
Mendy gets into the Barcelona box and attempts to get a cross into the Barcelona box, but the ball strikes Dest in the face. Claims for a spot kick, but they were half-hearted.
Both sides are losing and winning the ball in the centre of the pitch. Busquets is struggling a bit to keep up with the pace, but de Jong is doing well in there for Barcelona.
This has been a fantastic game so far. Sure, these two teams are flawed, but that has resulted in a compelling contest so far. More of the same, please! Must watch entertainment.
PICTURE: Valverde gave Real Madrid the lead
VAR check! The officials are taking their time to look at a challenge from Casemiro inside the penalty area, but the Brazilian midfielder looked to win the ball cleanly from Messi.
Benzema has to score! Real Madrid coming flying down the other end after the Messi chance, with Kroos setting up Benzema, but the French striker shoots straight at Neto with the side-foot effort!
Big chance for Messi! The Barcelona number 10 beat his man and had a clear sight on goal, but Courtois got across to the near post to make a stunning diving save. That looked like being a Barca goal!
Header on goal! Ramos got on the end of a corner kick delivery to the near post, but his header wasn't strong enough to find the back of the net and Neto makes the straightforward catch.
Ansu just keeps breaking records, becoming the youngest player to have ever scored in a Clasico. He is such an important figure for Barcelona and he's not even 18 years old yet!
- Yellow cardCasemiroReal Madrid
Casemiro is shown the first yellow card of the match for a foul on Messi.
PICTURE: Ansu equalised for Barca
Real Madrid just starting to take a grip of things in terms of possession. They are the ones currently camped in the opposition half, but then Casemiro sends a pass straight out of play.
There has been a lot of space in the areas between the defence and midfield for both teams in the opening 15 minutes of this match. It feels like there are more goals in this!
Coutinho tries the shot! The space opened up for the Brazilian playmaker on the edge of the Real Madrid penalty area, but his low effort was straight at Courtois, who makes the save.
Busquets has suffered a difficult start to this match. He got left behind by Benzema for the opening goal and he is generally struggling to cope with the movement in the centre of the pitch.
These matches don't always live up to their billing, but what an opening 10 minutes we have had at the Camp Nou here. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are looking to attack!
- GoalAnsu FatiFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 1 (9 mins - Ansu Fati) Real Madrid 1. A rapid response from Barcelona who have restored parity! Alba was played to the byline down the left side, he squared the pass for Ansu and the teenager tucked away past Courtois. What an incredible start to this match! We are back on level terms!
Chance for Vinicius! The Brazilian played a nice one-two with Benzema inside the box, but couldn't quite direct the shot on target. That was a sign of what Vinicius offers Real Madrid, though.
Well, well, well. What a start for Real Madrid. Valverde hasn't been the same player since lockdown, but he has given his side the lead in El Clasico. How will Barcelona respond?
- GoalFederico ValverdeReal Madrid
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 0 Real Madrid 1 (5 mins - Fede Valverde). It's an early opener for Real Madrid! Where was the Barcelona defence? Benzema slotted the pass through for Valverde after picking the ball up from deep and the Uruguyan midfielder lashes a right-footed finish past Neto! What a start for Los Blancos!
Dest has impressed in his first few games for Barcelona, but this is the first time he has played in his favoured right back position. Until now he has been filling in on the left side.
How fit is Ramos? He sat out the Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk during the week. Has he been rushed back to feature in this match? Barcelona might want to test that...
There are three teenagers in the Barcelona starting lineup for this one - Ansu, Dest and Pedri. This underlines what Koeman wants to do with his team. He wants energy and exuberance.
- 1st Half
The match is under way! It's Barcelona against Real Madrid in this La Liga fixture!
Okay, here we go. It's the first Clasico of the season and kick off at the Camp Nou is just moments away.
This will be a unique Clasico due to the fact there are no supporters in the stands at the Camp Nou today. Really, really weird.
How will Nacho cope with the attacking threat Barcelona pose? His last Clasico start at right back? Real Madrid lost 5-1. Gulp.
Not long until kick off at the Camp Nou. The first Clasico of the season is upon us. We will know much more about these two teams by full time. Just five minutes until we get under way.
All eyes on Pedri this afternoon. The 17-year-old was very impressive for Barcelona in the defeat to Getafe last weekend. He could be key to getting the Catalans' frontline firing. He's a pure number 10.
Both rivals come into this match on the back of shock defeats in La Liga last weekend, with Real Madrid losing at home to Cadiz and Barcelona beaten by Getafe. These are two flawed sides.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch catch me on Twitter ahead of the match to let me know your thoughts. Are Barcelona favourites for this one? What do you expect to see? Tweet me!
Ramos starts! The Real Madrid captain missed the midweek defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk with a knee injury picked up against Cadiz, but he's back in the starting lineup alongside Varane. Nacho starts at right back!
Pedri starts! Koeman has picked an interesting side to face Real Madrid, but the headline pick is Pedri! There's also a place at right back for Dest with Alba back in the left back position.
TEAM NEWS: Barcelona XI - Neto, Dest, Pique, Lenglet, Alba, Busquets, De Jong, Pedri, Coutinho, Ansu, Messi. /// Real Madrid - Courtois, Nacho, Varane, Ramos, Mendy, Valverde, Casemiro, Kroos, Asensio, Benzema, Vinícius.
