FULL TIME: Villarreal 1-2 Barcelona
Time is running out for Villarreal if they are to claim something from this match. The red card hasn't really affected them. Can they create one last scoring opportunity here?
Gaspar shoots over! The ball fell for the Villarreal full back inside the box, but it was always going to take a stunner to beat ter Stegen from there and he fires wildly over the bar!
There will be five minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
Araujo comes on for the final few minutes and that tells you where Koeman's mind is right now.
Can Villarreal create one last opportunity to find an equaliser and snatch a point from this match? They are still in this game. Barcelona have been poor since the red card!
It must be said that Barcelona haven't made the most of their numerical advantage here. Villarreal have held their own and have had chances to find a second goal. Not over yet.
This was the tackle!
Busquets is shown a yellow card. Barcelona still have work to do to see this out.
Barcelona aren’t the only ones with something to play for this afternoon. Villarreal still have hopes of qualifying for continental competition through the league for another season.
De Jong chips wide! That probably should have been a third Barcelona goal! Messi played the ball to Dembele who found de Jong in the middle, but the Dutchman chips wide of the target!
Koeman’s decision to switch Barcelona to a back three has got the best out of the players he has at his disposal. The Catalans now look to be much more comfortable in their shape.
Koeman makes another change and Dembele is on for Griezmann.
Things got a bit tense between Koeman and Mingueza during the mid-week win over Getafe with the Barcelona manager unhappy with the young defender for some of his decision-making. Played well today, though.
Moreno shoots wide! That was a warning sign for Barcelona. Moreno was fed the ball in the penalty box, but could only shoot wide. The Catalans can't afford to be complacent.
Here comes Gomez for the final 10 minutes of this match.
Torres is now shown a yellow card as Villarreal struggle for traction here.
It’s not just de Jong who has been in better form this season. Koeman has also managed to get more out of Busquets who looked to be fading as a force towards the end of last season.
