Paris Saint-Germain miss out on the Ligue 1 title despite beating Brest 2-0 in the final game of the season on Sunday night. PSG went into the final day hoping league leaders Lille would slip up and that they could better their result in order to lift the Ligue 1 title for the eighth time in the last nine seasons. But it would not be PSG's night as Lille beat Angers 2-1 which saw Les Dogues crowned champions for the first time in ten years.

90'

NO PENALTY! Neymar goes down in the box but referee Lesage tells him to get up. It looked like there was contact! We will have THREE minutes of added time as the 20/21 Ligue 1 season draws to a close.

PSG are pushing for a third while Brest will be slightly concerned they could get sucked into the relegation play-off place in these final minutes as Nantes are one point behind them on 40 as it stands and they currently trail 2-1 against Montpellier.

GOOD SAVE! Mbappe somehowe generates the power on the turn to fires a low driven strike on goal, but Larsonneur bats it away.

75'

Brest's defence is crumbling. Icardi is presented with a great chance to make it three but Larsonneur rushes out to get his body in the way of the strike. The hosts look to be losing their defensive discipline.

GOAL!! Mbappe is set through, takes the ball around Larsonneur who slid in for it. He is knocked to the ground but then gets up again to tap into the net. PSG comfortably ahead!

68'

GREAT SAVE! Navas makes an excellent stop to deny Faivre from point-blank range! It's a fine flowing move from Brest but they could not make it count! At the other end Mbappe storms forward and crosses into the area, but Di Maria cannot connect and it flies out for a goal-kick!

66'

BIG SAVE! Charbonnier is sent through into a one-on-one but Navas makes a fine save with his feet to deny the Frenchman for scoring the equaliser!

64'

Di Maria's cross into the area is threatening but no one can rise high enough to meet it. For all of PSG's attacking moves, goalkeeper Larsonneur has not really been tested this evening. Credit has to go to Brest for how well they have defended overall. They could have done very little about PSG's goal.

60'

Neymar turns, shoots and it deflects behind for a corner. This is better from PSG... Neymar's corner is met by Danilo from close-range but his header is comfortably caught by Larsonneur.

57'

Mbappe is fouled by Chardonnet around 25-yards from goal in a dangerous position and Brest have a free-kick. Neymar and Di Maria are standing over it.. CLOSE! Di Maria's curled strike hits the side netting. That was a good effort.

54'

Dagba tries to thread a tricky ball through to Mbappe but it rolls off the slick surface for a goal-kick. So just a reminder that as it stands Lille will be champions as it stands on 83 points. PSG will finish second on 82.

52'

With news undoubtedly coming through that Lille went 2-0 up when PSG were already in the dressing room for half-time, PSG looked less inspired to go out and extend their lead right now. Brest are the side trying to set the tempo in search of an equaliser.

50'

After a lengthy delay, Di Maria is back up on his feet and we play on.

48'

PSG push forward before Di Maria's shot is blocked. He appears to have done something to his lower back as he swung his boot at it and is now down receiving medical treatment.

46'

We are back underway for the second half!

20:55

Lille look set to seal the Ligue 1 title. Burak Yilmaz has scored from the spot against Angers in first half stoppage time to put Les Dogues 2-0 up against Angers.

HALF-TIME!

There will be no additional time at the end of the first half and PSG are doing their bit. Neymar may have missed his penalty in woeful circumstances, but the visitors lead thanks to a freak goal from Di Maria. Second half coming up!

44'

BIG CHANCE! Chardonnet swings a cross to the far post and Mounie meets it with an acrobatic header, but he cannot quite steer it on goal, he's reaching for it at all times and it curls wide! A good effort!

42'

Appeals for a Brest handball but the referee waves away the protests and VAR deems it not to be a penalty.

40'

Brest will feel hard done by to be a goal down but PSG will certainly take it! As it stands Lille will still win the title by a point as they are 1-0 up against Angers.

  • Romain Faivre
Own-goalRomain FaivreStade BrestoisGOAL!!! Di Maria swings a corner in, it takes wicked deflection off Faivre, who is the first man, and it freakishly loops over Larsonneur into the net!! PSG lead in truly bizarre circumstances! It will go down as a Faivre own goal as it was such a wild deflection.

33'

Di Maria's cross swung to the far post is headed clear by Chardonnet under pressure from Neymar.

31'

GOOD SAVE! Charbonnier shoots but he fires his shot low looking for the bottom corner and Navas can collect. However, the flag is raised so it would not have counted anyway.

29'

Here is that terrible penalty miss from Neymar. Just how pivotal could that prove to be at the end of the night?

28'

Neymar's shot from outside the box looking for the top corner deflects off Faussurier for a corner. The Brazilian's corner swung in to the near post is flicked on by Di Maria but Brest clear. YELLOW! As Brest try and counter, Herrera is booked for cynically bringing down Faivre.

26'

A dangerous cross from Perraud evades Charbonnier who was about a yard behind it and PSG can clear their lines. Brest sense vulnerability along PSG's backline.

25'

Honorat swings in Brest's third corner of the evening but it's poor. Brest have had a lot of joy down PSG's right flank but have not been able to fashion out a meaningful chance just yet.

23'

Here is the Jonathan David goal which has Lille winning the Ligue 1 title for the first time in ten years as it stands.

21'

Di Maria's cross is caught by Larsonneur. PSG look shellshocked but they are still on the front foot in search of the opening goal.

19'

PENALTY MISSED!!! After an agonisingly slow run-up... Neymar fires his penalty well wide!!! What an awful penalty! That was embarrassing from the Brazilian who stabs his low shot wide of Larsonneur's left post! Larsonneur's mind games by standing well to the right of his line has paid off!

17'

PENALTY TO PSG!!! Di Maria goes down in the box and it's rash challenge from Faivre who goes to ground and pulls Di Maria down when he doesn't need to! He knew what he did. Neymar steps up...

16'

Neymar tries to wriggle his way past Duverne but the centre back holds firm and shepherds the ball back to the goalkeeper. PSG are committing more men forward with greater regularity.

14'

Dagba squares a pass into the box but it's blocked by the red wall camped in the Brest box. The hosts are sitting deeper and deeper. Surely PSG will score soon?

12'

PSG are dominating possession but are playing at a very slow tempo with Brest sitting deep with two banks of four. It's a flat atmosphere in the stands and on the PSG subs bench... it looks like the news of Lille leading has filtered through.

10'

GOAL FOR LILLE! It's been a cagey opening ten minutes here but there's big news over at Raymond Kopa Stadium as Lille lead 1-0 against Angers! Jonathan David has scored so they will be French champions as it stands!

8'

Perraud slides it through to Honorat and his cross ricochets off Marquinhos' thigh for a corner. Honorat's cross is a good one but referee Lesage blows for a foul on Danilo. Brest have started well this evening. PSG are yet to find their rhythm.

6'

Di Maria plays a long accurate ball for Mbappe but the Frenchman cannot get it under control with his right foot and Larsonneur in goal gratefully collects.

4'

Diallo crosses into the box but no one is there to meet it before Brest nervously clear away. From the resulting throw, Dagba goes down in the box appealing for a penalty but there was no real contact and PSG have a corner which comes to nothing.

2'

SHOT! The first on target this evening from former Hudderfield striker Mounie who heads on goal, but it's an easy catch for Navas.

Here we go... we have kicked off. Game on!

19:58

It's a wet evening at Brest and kick-off will be underway very shortly. Tonight's referee is Mikael Lesage.

19:55

The warm-ups have been and gone and the team talks are underway. Kick-off is just five minutes away!

19:50

PSG come into this crunch clash just days after winning the Coupe de France. Kylian Mbappe set up the first goal and grabbed one of his own as PSG retained the cup with a 2-0 victory over Monaco in Wednesday’s final at the Stade de France.

19:37

It's quite the atmosphere outside Stade Francis-Le Blé where the Brest fans are making it a real occasion on the final day of the season. It's an important evening for the hosts, too. Les Pirates are in 16th and just one point ahead of 18th-placed Nantes who occupy the sole relegation play-off spot. There's so much on the line in France tonight.

19:28

It's THREE changes to the PSG team that Reims 4-0 in their most recent Ligue 1 outing last Sunday. Rafinha, Presnel Kimpembe and Abdou Diallo come in for Thilo Kehrer, Julian Draxler and Mitchel Bakker.
