PSG’s season is on the brink of collapse after a 1-1 draw with Rennes leaves them three points off first-placed Lille with two Ligue 1 games left of the season. Just days after PSG were knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage, Serhou Guirassy’s second-half header cancelled out a controversial Neymar penalty to significantly damage the Ligue 1 champions’ title hopes.
Doku cuts in and curls a shot on goal, but it's just wide of Navas' left post! Rennes have been so unlucky not to find a winner.
CLOSE! He's offside in the end but Del Castillo tries to chip Navas from 35-yards out, but it drops onto the roof of the net.
- OffHamari TraoréStade Rennais
- OnBrandon SoppyStade Rennais
SUBS! Soppy and Del Castillo come on for Traore and Guirassy.
- Yellow cardFlavien TaitStade Rennais
YELLOW! For Tait for a late challenge on Neymar to stop him from counter-attacking. FOUR minutes of added time.
GREAT SAVE! Tait curls another shot looking for the same bottom corner as he did earlier but Navas parries away!
- Yellow cardRomain Del CastilloStade Rennais
YELLOW! The card is issued to substitute Del Castillo for his reaction to the foul and the subsequent pushing and shoving with Kimpembe.
- Red cardPresnel KimpembeParis Saint-Germain
RED CARD! Yet again PSG self-combust as Kimpembe puts in an awful challenge on Doku and is shown a straight red for his late sliding challenge.
SAVE! Guirassy faces up to Marquinhos, jinks to his right and fires a shot towards the bottom corner, but Navas parries away.
Rennes are the ones pushing for the winner right now. PSG just seem to lack any real intensity going forward. Mbappe has been sorely missed this evening.
Here is that Guirassy goal if you are a UK viewer...
SUBS! Florenzi is on for Dagba and Icardi comes in for Draxler.
YELLOW! For Diouf straight away for a late challenge on Pereira.
SUBS! Two Rennes changes. Maouassa comes off for Dalbert. Terrier is also off for 17-year-old Andy Diouf for his debut.
Rafinha cynically trips up Tait and he's down on the ground in some discomfort. Signs of frustration again from the PSG players.
Rafinha's cross to the far post is met by Neymar, but it's not quite high enough and the Brazilian really has to dig it out. It loops up and into the arms of Gomis.
Rennes want more. They were fully deserving of their equaliser and can sense PSG are vulnerable. It's a huge 20 minutes or so in PSG's season coming right up.
- GoalSerhou GuirassyStade Rennais
GOAL! Rennes equalise! From a corner, it's a powerful header from Guirassy off the post and into the net! This could be pivotal in the Ligue 1 title race! PSG are now three points behind first-placed Lille as it stands.
- OffAnder HerreraParis Saint-Germain
- OnIdrissa GueyeParis Saint-Germain
SUBS! Gueye and Rafinha are on for Di Maria and Herrera.
GOOD SAVE! Navas to the rescue as Tait's low curling strike heading for the bottom coner is pushed away by the Costa Rican. The following corner is nodded on goal by Aguerd but it's straight at Navas.
Another Neymar foul as he barges over Da Silva. The Brazilian really should have been booked by now.
Doku wins Rennes a corner but it comes to nothing. Rennes have done well to fashion out chances this game but execution in front of goal has been lacking.
- OffLesley UgochukwuStade Rennais
- OnClément GrenierStade Rennais
SHOT! Kean attempts to audaciously curl his shot itno the top right corner, but he bends it just wide. SUB! Ugochukwu comes off for Grenier.
- Yellow cardAnder HerreraParis Saint-Germain
YELLOW! For Herrera for a tough sliding challenge on Ugochukwu.
SO CLOSE! That was almost a wonderful goal from Draxler! He brings down a bonucing ball, bounces it up with his left knee before hitting a volley on the turn, but its just wide! It was a spectacular solo attempt which would have been a goal of the season contender had he pulled it off!
- OffLayvin KurzawaParis Saint-Germain
- OnAbdou DialloParis Saint-Germain
Neymar wipes out Traore and Rennes have a free-kick. SUB! Diallo is on for the injured Kurzawa.
Kurzawa is taken out by Kimpembe and is down in pain after Doku catches him. He has been rolled off to the sideline and Rennes have a corner. The set-piece played short deflects off Herrera for another Rennes corner.
CHANCE! Maouassa's driven shot deflects wide for a Rennes corner. Bourigeaud's cross to the far post is headed clear. This is better from the hosts.
Neymar barges into the back of Tait and Rennes have a free-kick. Despite Neymar scoring the only goal of the game, the Brazilian has looked a long way off his best this evening. Mbappe's absence has been telling.
Rennes have begun the half on the front foot but there has been a real lack of quality in some of their attacks. PSG have been let off a fair few times defensively due to Rennes sloppiness.
Tait's lofted cross into the area is a poor one and lands on the roof of the net.
SAVE! Doku breaks free into the box and drives a low shot on goal which Navas can get his body behind and clutch to his chest.
We are back underway for the second half!
- End of 1st Half
PSG lead at the break perhaps surprisingly undeservedly thanks to Neymar's penalty in injury time. Second half coming up!
- Goal by penaltyNeymarParis Saint-Germain
GOAL!!! Gomis gets a firm hand on it... but Neymar slots his spot-kick into the goalkeeper's bottom right corner. That was very lucky! PSG lead!
- Yellow cardNaif AguerdStade Rennais
YELLOW! For Aguerd. Neymar is taking the penalty...
VAR SAYS PENALTY! Well, that is harsh as Aguerd really was just trying to clear the ball.
VAR is now checking for serious foul play from Aguerd on Kurzawa. The ref has gone to the monitor. This would be so harsh if it is given.
There is a pause in play with Kurzawa in some discomfort after Aguerd accidentally stamps on him as he gets a shot away over the bar.
ONE minute of added time at the end of the first half.
Kurzawa's cross is cut out by Tait and Rennes try and counter with Doku almost through, but Kimpembe slides in and wins the ball off the winger before the flag goes up for offside.
Neymar has a shot from range but it's well over the bar.
SAVE! Neymar tries to beat Da Silva but he cannot make space to get a shot away and eventually Gomis gets down to push the ball away from the Brazilian's feet.
With nowhere to go, 18-year-old Doku shoots and wins a corner off Kurzawa. Bourigeaud's cross is met by Da Silva at the far post, but his header lacked sufficient power and Navas catches it easily. PSG have had 60 per cent of the ball with both sides having had two shots on target.
NO GOAL! Kean heads the ball into the net from point-blank range, but Dagba ran out of play as he put a cross in.
Doku, who has been the best player on the pitch so far, flashes a dangerous cross across the goalmouth but it ricochets off Herrera for a Rennes corner. Bourigeaud's cross to the edge of the box is blocked by Herrera.
Danilo appears to bundle over Guirassy who was clear through on goal on the counter-attack! But quite amazingly the referee waves play on! That looked a certain foul and perhaps even a red card for denying Rennes a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Dagba's cross into the box is headed clear by Aguerd. PSG are aiming to play higher up the pitch but we are still goalless as we go past the half-hour mark.
NO PENALTY! Doku goes down in the box under pressure from Kurzawa right in front of the referee but he is not having any of it. We play on. There was a bit of contact but perhaps the Rennes winger went down a bit too easily.
NO GOAL! Some fine footwork from Doku in the box, he skips past Draxler before laying it off to Tait whose shot is parried by Navas. Moments later it falls to Doku whose wayward rebound is chested into the back of the net by Guirassy, but he is in an offside position. VAR has given it a check and it remains no goal.
Guirassy barges into the back of Herrera and PSG have a free-kick. Mauricio Pochettino cuts a slightly stressed figure on the touchline, they absolutely must win tonight if they are to stay in the hunt for the Ligue 1 title.
Kurzawa's cross to the near post is cleared behind by Da Silva and PSG have a corner. Di Maria will take it. His outswinger is nodded on goal by Marquinhos but it skids off his forehead and goes wide.
SAVE! Di Maria drops the shoulder and drives a low strike on goal, but Gomis is there once again to claw it away! The Rennes goalkeeper is beginning to get tested now.
Aguerd makes a fine sliding challenge on Kean and PSG have another corner. Di Maria crosses into the area but Gomis leaps up high and makes the catch.
Dagba's cross is headed behind for a PSG corner. Neymar passes short anbfore getting a ball into the box which Danilo almost meets, but it skids off the turf into the arms of Gomis.
PSG are looking flat and maybe their Champions League exit is still hanging over them. It’s been lacklustre stuff from the visitors so far.
MISS! PSG counter and it comes to Neymar on the edge of the box, but he drags his shot wide of Gomis' right post.
SHOT! Herrera has a strike on goal but Gomis makes a good save low to his right to parry it away.
OH DEAR! Kimpembe brings down Tait around 30-yards from goal and Rennes have the first free-kick of the match in a dangerous position. The centre back gets a talking to from referee Ruddy Buquet but no booking. The free-kick is taken by Maouassa but it is truly awful! It flies well wide.
SHOT! Doku cuts in from the left onto his right boot and his shot is a powerful one, but it's straight into the arms of Navas.
CHANCE! Kurzawa surges into the box and gets to the byline, he pulls it back for Herrera but his first-time effort off his left boot flies wide! That was the best chance of the game so far.
Di Maria tries to peg a ball back to the edge of the box but Rennes can clear. The hosts are defending very narrow and are giving PSG acres of space down the channels.
Kurzawa gets yet another cross away but Gomis can comfortably claim it. The left-back is getting plenty ot joy down the left flank with Traore receiving very little support from his teammate Bourigeaud in defending the channel.
CHANCE! Kurzawa puts another cross into the area. Maouassa's header at the far post goes straight to Kean who lashes at it on the half-volley. He's off-balance and shoots well over the bar.
Kurzawa launches a first-time cross into the area on the half-volley but no one is there to meet the wayward attempt.
A sloppy touch from Kurzawa. He miscontrols the ball and lets it roll out of play before getting taunted by the Rennes subs bench for his efforts.
Rennes have started brightly and are controlling these opening stages.... SHOT! Guirassy turns Marquinhos inside the box before firing on goal, but his shot from a narrow angle is wide.

Aside from that, I have to learn from that to rebound. We have to be realistic. I know that I have not only produced good matches."
