Full-time: Wow, what late drama! Paris Saint-Germain keep their 100 per cent winning record in Ligue One thanks to Mauro Icardi's winner three minutes into stoppage-time!
- GoalMauro IcardiParis Saint-Germain
GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Lyon (Mauro Icardi): Icardi, the super-sub, wins it right at the death for PSG! Mbappe gets one-on-one with his marker on the flank and he picks out Icardi with a sublime cross. He does the rest, cushioning his header into the bottom corner to break Lyon hearts.
Four minutes to be added on! Can PSG grab what would be a late, late winner?
Pinball inside the Lyon penalty area from a PSG corner, but a number of blocks are made and the visitors hold on. And now they break, but Mendes is cautioned for illegally disrupting the attack.
- OffAnder HerreraParis Saint-Germain
- OnGeorginio WijnaldumParis Saint-Germain
Needing a goal, Herrera comes off, Wijnaldum is on. Another strange sub is made by Pochettino.
- OffLucas PaquetáOlympique Lyonnais
- OnHabib KeitaOlympique Lyonnais
The impressive Paqueta has picked up a knock, he hobbles off and is replaced by Keita.
Neymar spins away from his marker, plays a give-and-go but just as he's about to burst into the penalty area he clatters into his team mate Kehrer, who stays down!
- OffÁngel Di MaríaParis Saint-Germain
- OnMauro IcardiParis Saint-Germain
PSG sub: Di Maria's night comes to an end now as he's replaced by Icardi.
- Yellow cardAnthony LopesOlympique Lyonnais
Yellow card! Lopes takes too long to take his goal-kick, the referee loses patience and produces the card.
Lyon sub: Cherki comes on for Shaqiri.
Messi did not look particularly happy as he made his way off the pitch. Is it the right call by Pochettino? Time will tell.
- OffLionel MessiParis Saint-Germain
- OnAchraf HakimiParis Saint-Germain
Messi is off! His number goes up and he's replaced by Hakimi for the last 15 minutes or so.
Lyon's defence is dropping deeper and deeper as they begin to tire. Messi drags a shot wide but you feel it's only a matter of time before another chance falls his way.
Close! A warning from Lyon that perhaps they aren't just finished yet, as Paqueta gets a shot away from the edge of the box but can't keep it down.
Neymar gees up the home crowd as he goes across to take the corner. He plays it quickly, searching for Marquinhos at the near post, but it comes to nothing.
Not only have Lyon lost their lead, they've also lost Ekambi, who had been their most lively and creative player. I'm not sure why Bosz has decided to hook him.
- Yellow cardMarquinhosParis Saint-Germain
Yellow card! Marquinhos goes into the book for dissent.
- Goal by penaltyNeymarParis Saint-Germain
GOAL! Paris Saint-German 1-1 Lyon (Neymar, pen): The Brazilian steps up to take the penalty he won, and after waiting for the goalkeeper to commit, he rolls it into the opposite corner.
- OffKarl Toko EkambiOlympique Lyonnais
- OnHoussem AouarOlympique Lyonnais
Lyon subs: Diomande and Aouar come on for Boateng and Ekambi just before the penalty can be taken.
Penalty to PSG! Gusto pulls down Neymar inside the box and the referee points to the spot. It looks soft but the decision is final. Now, who will take the spot-kick?
Neymar is clearly frustrated as he commits a foul with a challenge from behind, just moments after PSG saw their corner delivery cleared.
Just had another look at the replay of the goal, and while there's no question Kehrer should have closed down Ekambi quicker, there's also question marks about Donnarumma's goalkeeping - he should have got down quicker.
Now then, what are PSG made of? The home crowd are growing agitated, and it'll be interesting to see how Pochettino's side reacts to this setback.
- GoalLucas PaquetáOlympique Lyonnais
GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 Lyon (Lucas Paqueta): Ekambi controls a diagonal ball, standing off, Kehrer allows him all the time in the world and the Lyon wideman bends a delightful cross into the feet of Paqueta, who makes no mistake with his finish. PSG are stunned!
It's Neymar; it should have been Messi. The Brazilian gets right under the ball and it's always rising as it flies high into the stands.
Free-kick! Neymar runs through a crowd of bodies, going down following a brush of the shoulder from Paqueta. Who's going to take this one?
Di Maria collects the ball wide right but just as he looks to drive into space the referee says he controlled with his hand.
Herrera tries to scoop the ball over the top to find Messi and Boateng has to stretch to make the interception.
- 2nd Half
We go again! Lyon get the ball moving at the start of what should be an enthralling second-half.
- End of 1st Half
Half-time: Despite all of PSG's illustrious attacking talent on the pitch, it's goalless at the break. But it's not for the want of trying - Messi has had one clear chance but was denied by Lopes before the Argentine struck the crossbar with a beautiful free-kick.
Herrera's ball over the top is searching for Mbappe, but he ducks before he is clattered by Lopes who punches the ball clear. PSG come again - on this occasion Mbappe drags his shot wide.
Shaqiri carves inside after collecting another diagonal ball. He shapes his body to shoot but instead opts to tease it back to Caqueret whose shot is deflected behind for a corner. From the resulting set-piece, Paqueta's shot at the near post fails to trouble Donnarumma.
Neymar is searching for Messi with a low drilled cross but Caqueret intervenes with a vital touch back to his goalkeeper.
Another promising attack ends in frustration for PSG. Messi collects a cross on the edge of the box, he feeds it to Di Maria, who spins away from his marker, but the hosts can only force the corner.
Surely Messi's first goal for PSG isn't far away. The hosts have clicked into a higher gear now and suddenly it's wave after wave of attack.
Messi hits the crossbar! The Argentine is on free-kick duties tonight it seems... And oh, that is so close! He gets it up and over the wall, it looks destined for the top corner - Lopes is beaten... but it just doesn't dip enough as it strikes the woodwork!
Free-kick! Neymar, having been shoved in the back by Shaqiri, goes down holding his head. Who will take the free-kick which is in a central area, 25 yards out.
Messi should score! The Argentine drops deep into midfield and sprays it wide to Neymar, who moves in-field. Anticipating the run of the advancing Messi, he backheels the ball to his team mate to create a clear opening, but the 34-year-old is repelled by Lopes!
If the opening 30 minutes has told us anything, it's that Lyon are not frightened of PSG. Again they string together a lovely attacking move, filled with one-touch passing, before Ekambi shoots straight at Donnarumma from the edge of the box.
Donnarumma and Boateng are fine to continue, by the way.
PSG try to work it out from the back but lose the ball, and although Lyon fail to create an opening, Pochettino will not be pleased by that passage of play.
Messi - of all people - commits a foul on the left flank to bring Lyon's counter-attack to a halt. The ball is whipped into the penalty area, Boateng has his eyes on the ball but clatters into Donnarumma, and both players require treatment.
Corner! Di Maria cuts inside onto his favoured left foot and Denayer gets across to make an important block at the expense of a corner. You know what he's going to do, but it's difficult to stop!
Shaqiri's delivery from the resultant set-piece is woeful, however, as he gets too much zip on it and it drifts behind for a goal-kick.
Mbappe blocks Shaqiri's pass with his arm and Lyon will have a free-kick out wide.
It has been a thoroughly entertaining and open start to the game.
Shot! Ekambi is terrorising PSG down Lyon's left and once again he gets away from his marker, finding the space to deliver a cross. Shaqiri keeps it alive on the opposite flank, carving in and lashing a shot at goal but Donnarumma won't be beaten.
Messi has a pop! That's much more like it from PSG - one-touch football in and around the visitors' penalty area. A lovely backheeled pass from Mbappe lays it off to Messi but he doesn't get the connection quite right and it's an easy save for the goalkeeper.
A scrappy period in the game with neither side looking entirely comfortable in possession at this moment.
A lovely diagonal ball finds Shaqiri wide right. He's quickly closed down, however, and can only force the corner. Mbappe's there with the headed clearance, but PSG concede yet another corner as Gusto's shot takes a deflection.
Save! Di Maria creates the space for a shot and unleashes a left-footed effort, but he doesn't get the curl he would have wanted as Lopes makes a comfortable save.
- Yellow cardÁngel Di MaríaParis Saint-Germain
Yellow card! Di Maria catches Caqueret with a late challenge and deservedly goes into the referee's book.
Herrera picks out Messi with a diagonal ball, but the Argentine's chest control is slightly heavy which allows the onrushing Lopes to gather the ball from his feet.
No penalty! Messi makes an explosive run through the middle as PSG counter. Mbappe takes a tumble as he tries to get on the end of the through-ball - but there's nothing doing from the referee.
Over! Ekambi leaves Di Maria's on his back side as he drives to the by-line. His cross is cleared only as far as Caqueret, who blasts over. That's an early half chance for Lyon.
Smoke from a flare is making it difficult to see what's happening on the pitch!
- 1st Half
Kick-off! PSG get the ball moving as we get underway!
A raucous atmosphere in the capital ahead of this one...
Mbappe: Fit to start tonight after suffering a foot injury in Belgium.
It's set to be a memorable night at Parc des Princes between France's two most successful clubs.
After a slow start, new Lyon boss Peter Bosz appears to have found a winning formula with back-to-back victories. A 2-0 win at Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday was a confidence-booster, but as we know, tonight is a different kind of test entirely.
Pochettino ahead of tonight's game (per the official Ligue 1 website): “I was already saying it before Bruges. We need time for the players to get to know each other’s game, to develop a connection. We have a team with an enormous amount of talent so that should it make it easy for them to develop that affinity."
What went wrong in Bruges? Vince Bregevin, our colleague in France, explains...
Xherdan Shaqiri earns a recall to the Lyon XI and former Leicester forward Islam Slimani leads the attack. Eighteen-year-old Malo Gusto has the mammoth task of trying to keep PSG's front three quiet.
Pochettino makes five changes - but as expected MNM all start. Gianluigi Donnarumma, Thilo Kehrer, Nuno Mendes, Idrissa Gueye and Angel Di Maria are in, with Keylor Navas, Abdou Diallo, Achraf Hakimi, Gini Wijnaldum, Leandro Pardes dropping to the bench. Lionel Messi makes his home debut for PSG.
