The Caley Jags moved level on points with Ayr in third.
Inverness left it late to earn a 2-2 Ladbrokes Championship draw at Morton.
Darren McCauley scored two minutes from time to move the Caley Jags level on points with Ayr in third and extend Morton’s run without victory to seven.
Anthony McDonald gave the visitors an 18th-minute lead with a superb solo strike when he picked the ball up on the right and advanced into the box before firing home via the post.
But the lead lasted just nine minutes before the hosts were level when Reece Lyon’s effort from distance nestled in the bottom corner of the net.
Greg Kiltie then put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot four minutes before the break. Brad McKay was adjudged to have fouled Gregor Buchanan in the penalty area and Kiltie made no mistake from 12 yards.
But Inverness earned a point in the 88th as McCauley met Liam Polworth’s cross at the back post to convert.
