Paul Merson insists that Arsenal would win the Premier League if manager Arsene Wenger had the tactical nous of Harry Redknapp.
Wenger, Arsenal’s most successful manager, last won the league title for the north London club back in 2004, and has come under increasing pressure in recent seasons.
The 67-year-old signed a new two-year deal at Arsenal at the end of last season after finishing fifth in the league.
And Merson, who played under Wenger at Arsenal in the late 90s, believes that the Gunners would win the league were Wenger to adopt Redknapp's tactical nous.
"People say he's a wheeler-dealer and it's so disrespectful," he said on Sky’s A League Of Their Own.
Tactically, he's one of the best I've worked with. If Arsene Wenger had Harry Redknapp's tactical nous, Arsenal would win the league.
Redknapp, 70, left his role as Birmingham City manager in September after a run of six defeats left the Blues second from bottom of the table.
