The report says that the Catalan has instructed director of football Txiki Begiristain to sell the aging Belgian international, indicating that Guardiola is looking to start from scratch with the club's defence.

Also in the Sun, Roma have rejected a bid of £26 million off the Blues for Greek international Kostas Manolas and are reportedly holding out for a sum of £35 million. The report says the Italian club are wiling to do further business in the summer if the price is met, as Chelsea have a list of players they're targeting in a bid to fix pressing squad issues.

Paper Round's view: Manolas has the pedigree of AEK Athens, Olympiakos and Roma at the age of just 24. The Premier League is another step up entirely, but Chelsea are shopping in the right place as he seems committed to improving his already impressive game.
