Wayne Rooney snatches Premier League one-club goalscoring record

Wayne Rooney’s goal against Liverpool saw him eclipse Thierry Henry as the player with the most goals for one club in the Premier League.
The Manchester United striker’s fizzing late volley earned his side a 1-0 win at Anfield and carried him onto 176 goals, with former Arsenal frontman Henry on 175.

"It was massive victory for us and continues our good start to this year," Rooney told Sky Sports. "I didn't know about the record, but that's not what I'm feeling now.
"To score the winning goal at Anfield, that's a long time for me since my first year at United, so I'm going to be a bit selfish and enjoy that the most."
Rooney may have only smashed the 20-goal barrier in two seasons for United, but double figure returns in all campaigns since his move from Everton in 2004 – bar the current edition – have helped him claim the record.
