A number of national newspapers carry the story on their back pages, with Mourinho said to have been involved in an “X-rated tunnel rant” in a moment of “F-word fury”.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez was conducting an interview with local reporters when the incident occurred.
As the Liverpool Echo reports: “The controversial Portuguese was furious at not being able to face the media first after the final whistle, meaning his return to London was delayed while Everton’s triumphant manager spoke.
“After facing the TV cameras Martinez was being interviewed by local sports journalists in a walkway underneath Goodison’s Main Stand when the blazing Chelsea boss strode past and berated him for making him wait.”

According to multiple reports, Mourinho said to his opposite number: “Roberto next time tell me go before you because we have to travel.”
Martinez replied: “We don’t control that Jose, I don’t control that.”
And Mourinho was then recorded saying: “F****** hell!”
After the Chelsea manager departed the scene, Martinez told the reporters: “When he beat us 6-3 (last season) he was such a nice man. I prefer him like that!”

OUR VIEW

Foul-mouthed rants ain't what they used to be. There's no shortage of genuine crisis points at Chelsea without the need to blow a fairly minor event up into something bigger - and this does seem like a bit of a forced controversy. Mourinho's exclamation is undoubtedly rude and blunt, but it's pushing it to say he "raged" at Martinez, as one report has it. It is also necessary to resist the conclusion that he's cracking up. Under pressure and letting it show? Certainly. Cracking up? Not on this evidence.
