Drinkwater cleverly turns it a loose ball down the line, haring in pursuit - until Noble, who he beat to it, slides in and brings him down. Amazingly, even though he is immediately hauled to his feet by the perpetrator, the ref is undeterred from presenting the yellow card.

West Ham do not appear to be replete with ideas.

Leicester win another free-kick down the right and this time Mahrez is having it - there's a slightly wider angle for him to swing it in with his left foot. And he does, picking out Morgan - I think - but the phalanx of bodies that leap with him smother the effort, and Kouyate hooks clear.

Lovely from Mahrez, roling the ball under his studs and flicking it around his standing leg and all of Ogbonna. It gets him naewhere but is no less lovely for that.

Things I have learnt this season: there is a fox emoji.

I'll level with you: I think I'm old. A good mate of mind supports Leicester and goes all over, and I'm finding inordinate vicarious joy in his joy, rather than hoping they fail in tghe most humiliating manner possible.

So, can Leicester retain it?

Drinkwater feeds into Okazaki and Reid has seen enough, piling into a challenge that sees ankle twisted around shin and anguish ripped through mouth. A booking, while Ranieri plays to the crowd, ranting at and then patting Bilic.

This is fairly feisty by modern standards, and all the more enjoyable for it - so, of course, the referee decides to intervene. Vardy is a tad late on Kouyate, on halfway and on the touchline. For this, he is booked.

The first part of that Leicester goal reminded quite a lot of this jazzer from 1993/94.

Morgan has a whack at Kouyate and there follow spirited discussions as to the various merits of things. Fingers are pointed, danders are raised, and what a row that would be. West Ham pump the free-kick into the box and Leicester wina header for the first time - but the ball breaks to Payet on the edge of the box, only for Kante to insert himself between him and it. Excellent tackle.

I actually don't think they've done that goal justice.

"We shall not be moved" fills the KP, and it really does look that way; they shall not. Football is magnificent.

GOAL! Leicester City 1-0 West Ham United. West Ham waste a free-kick into the box - well actually, that's strong. Kouyate gets a header on it, which Schmeichel collects and immediately, he sets Mahrez nashing away down the right. He then holds the ball up well and lays infield to Kante, who motors on and finds Vardy, left side of the box. He could shoot first time, but instead he drags the ball wide of his man before absolutely panelling a shot across Adrian intro the far corner. Brilliant, superb, outstanding, breathtaking behaviour!

An unusual statistic, the very best kind. Leicester have had 60% possession. This is unusual.

Well, we've answered the question about whether West Ham are arsed for this; verily they are. It's possible they'll become less so should they fall behind, but for now, they're doing all they can to help local chumsies, Tottenham.

Talking of Mark Noble, what on earth was all that about him making the England squad? He's a decent player, but really: after a career not being quite up to it, a few good weeks change nothing.

Noble wins possession in centrefield and immediately finds Payet, as you would. He motors towards the edge of the box, but looking for Moses outside him, tamely finds Fuchs instead.

Leicester win a free-kick, down the right and Albrighton curves it deliberately towards Huth, left of centre. He and Morgan have the West Ham defence alll over the show and he's there to thump a header goalwards - it looks for all the world like it's the opener - but it's wide! Huge chance, but good couple of minutes for the champions-elect.
