Liverpool fans blast Topman for ‘horrendously insensitive’ jumper with ‘96’ slogan

Topman have been forced to pull one of their items from their website after the clothing company came under intense scrutiny for releasing a jumper which fans believe references the Hillsborough Disaster.

The bright red ‘Goes Around’ jumper has the number ‘96’ on the back with the phrase ‘what goes around comes around’ underneath. And on the front of the right sleeve is the word ‘karma’.
Twitter users were outraged at the jumper which has been deemed ‘horrendously insensitive’, though many have suggested that they believe Topman didn’t cause upset on purpose.
Hillsbrough campaign group ‘Total Eclipse of the S*n’ pleaded for the item to be recalled with immediate effect.

Topman have since stopped selling the item on their website and apologised.
The Bob Marley song referred to was released in 1996 and is called “What Goes Around Comes Around” and contains the lyrics, “What goes around comes around, What goes up must come down, it's called Karma baby and it goes around”.
