Liverpool are set to miss out on transfer target Alex Teixeira, with the club unwilling to meet Shakhtar Donetsk's £53m valuation.

Jurgen Klopp's side have already have two offers for the Brazilian rebuffed, but appear to have given up the chase after Shakhtar demanded €70m for Teixeira.

Real Madrid's Denis Cheryshev is another player who will not be arriving - in this case because Liverpool have not actually bid for him.

The Russian midfielder is looking for first team football ahead of Euro 2016, but Liverpool have not made a formal offer and the player looks likely to join Sevilla on loan instead.
