Manchester United are willing to break the bank for Neymar and Chelsea would do so for Paul Pogba. That and more from Tuesday's papers.

United to chase Neymar in£240 million deal - Manchester United want to sign Neymar, even if it costs £240 million, according to The Sun. Neymar has a £130m buyout clause and taxes would make for a £165m transfer fee. Toss in a contract that would see him earn £75m on a five-year deal and the Brazilian's cost would near a quarter billion. United are desperate to make a big splash and, while Neymar would be astonishingly expensive, the club think that they can make it back if he becomes the Red Devils' star and is properly marketed.
Paper Round's view - It's tough to completely dismiss a report out of hand, even a £240m one. That's insane money, but United can afford to spend insane money and Ed Woodward has been looking to make a name for himself ever since he became the club's executive vice-chairman. This kind of deal would do just that. So while this deal is extremely unlikely, the clubs and figures involved still make it somewhat possible.
Chelsea won't give up on Pogba - Chelsea are desperate to sign Paul Pogba and will chase him until the transfer window shuts next week, according to The Standard. The Blues have recognised their issues at the back, but more than anything, they are concerned about their lack of mobility in the midfield to protect the defence. Pogba would solve that problem and Chelsea will go in for a British record of £70m to bring the midfielder in from Juventus, even if they are facing an uphill battle.
Paper Round's view - Chelsea have a problem and Pogba can just about fix it. He's both brilliant and young. If the Blues are going to break the British record on anyone, he is the man to do it. Right now, Chelsea are off the pace to win the league, but if they nab Pogba then they're right there with Manchester City. £70m is a ton of money, but if you're going to spend that much then you have to do it on the right player and Pogba is that.
Arsenal could go for Cavani - Karim Benzea won't be joining Arsenal, so Edinson Cavani might. The Mirror claim that in the wake of Benzema declaring that he's staying at Real Madrid, the Gunners are turning their attention to Cavani. Arsenal have been linked to Cavani in the past and Paris Saint-Germain do not want to sell the striker, but there are still concerns about his future at the club and he could be available. Manchester United are expected to be interesting in signing Cavani as well.
Paper Round's view - If Arsenal want a top class striker, Cavani fits the bill just as much as Benzema. But like Benzema, he will not come cheap. He's also 28 years old so there won't be much resale value for the Gunners if they do buy him. But no great strikers come cheap and those that are young are even more expensive. Arsenal will need to shell out big money if they want a huge signing before the deadline. If they want it, it's there for them, but they're not always willing to spend when the deal isn't exactly what they want.
Berahino closer to West Brom exit - Saido Berahino looks to be on the way out of West Brom. The Sun understand that the player submitted a transfer request and while the club did reject it, the feeling around the club is that he will leave. Tony Pulis fears selling Berahino just before the window slams shut, leaving him no time to sign a replacement so the Baggies could opt to sell him soon. Spurs are desperate to nab the forward and while they had a £15m bid rejected, they will submit an increased offer this week.
Paper Round's view - It's one thing to want out, but it's a whole other to submit a transfer request and try to push a move through. Berahino's attitude has been called into question before and with him so badly hoping to leave, West Brom could be in trouble if they insist on keeping him. Tottenham aren't easy to deal with and the Baggies would probably prefer to sell to anyone else after Spurs turned his head, but realistically, they should probably look to get anything over £20m and move on to finding a replacement.
Advocaat may quit - Dick Advocaat is on the verge of leaving Sunderland. The Mail say that Advocaat wants to sign two or three more players, but that owner Ellis Short only green lit one major buy all summer and will not like the manager sign anyone else. Advocaat has gone public with his frustrations and that it wasn't the situation he envisioned, but now he's privately considering quitting. The transfer deadline is on Tuesday and that could be the end of his time at the club.
Paper Round's view - If any Premier League manager would walk out on his team just a few weeks into the season, it would be Advocaat. He wasn't even suppose to manage Sunderland this season, but was convinced to return to the club instead of retiring and was reportedly promised a fair amount of money to spend this summer. He doesn't need this job and if he doesn't think it's a good gig, or that he's been lied to, he can walk off into the sunset. That's not to say that he will do so, but he certainly is in position to.
Adebayor's loan to West Ham is possible again - Emmanuel Adebayor might go to West Ham after all. The Mirror believe that Tottenham are willing to pay part of Adebayor's wages, making it possible for the Hammers to take him on. West Ham tried to sign Adebayor on loan in January, but Spurs wouldn't pay any of his wages then. That has changed as Tottenham are desperate to get rid of him and West Ham are equally as desperate to sign a striker.
Paper Round's view - Adebayor is in the final year of his contract and will not play for Tottenham so the club would be smart to do whatever they can to offload him. There's no use in paying all of his £100,000-per-week wages to not play him if they can loan him out and get some of that back. Adebayor refuses to leave London so West Ham is the only real option to loan him out and Spurs have to pick up part of the tab to make it happen.
