United beat Watford 2-1, but needed a late own goal to do so - and while the nature of the result had fans delighted that the team is once again winning in "Fergie Time", 11-times Premier League winner Scholes is not quite so convinced.
"I think they can win the league, but I don't think I've seen a performance yet where I've though, wow, that team is brilliant, they can go on to win the league," Scholes told BT Sport, then going on to add that he has no such doubts about United's arch-rivals.
"I think I've seen in City, I think I've seen that in Arsenal. Whether they can carry that kind of form on I'm not too sure, and whether United will get better...?"

Scholes added that he thinks that United can still improve, and yet more new signings in January could make all the difference.
"I think United can get better and if they add maybe a couple of players in January, then... I think they can win it, but I'm not totally convinced."

Scholes is spot on: while United keep churning out wins, there's still a huge gulf in the quality of performances being produced by United and those of City and Arsenal at their best so far this season. Throw in the injury crisis at Old Trafford - eight top players at the moment, with Phil Jones and Ander Herrera coming off on Saturday - and there are an awful lot of questions to be asked of United between now and May.
