Tottenham Hotspur are in danger of missing out on second place in the Premier League to bitter rivals Arsenal after going 2-0 down to relegated Newcastle at half-time.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were locked in a two-horse race for the title with Leicester until the final weeks of the season, but with their North London counterparts 1-0 up against Aston Villa after an early Olivier Giroud strike, they risk finishing the season one point behind.
Both teams will still qualify for the Champions League but it will be a terrible blow to the pride of Tottenham fans if they fail to hang on to second spot after such a tremendous campaign.
They must stage a terrific fightback after conceding goals to Georginio Wijnaldum and Aleksandar Mitrovic at St James' Park.
