Justin Kluivert was right to snub Manchester United in favour of a move to Roma, according to his father Patrick.

Justin Kluivert, Bryan Cristante and Daniele De Rossi of AS Roma celebrate after their teammate Edin Dzeko scored the opening goal during the Serie A match between Torino FC and AS Roma at Stadio Olimpico di Torino on August 19, 2018 in Turin, Italy.

The 19-year-old moved from his boyhood club Ajax to the Serie A giants over the summer after being linked with a number of top clubs.
United were reportedly very keen to sign the midfielder, but his father Patrick - a legendary Ajax and Netherlands striker - advised him to move to Rome instead.
Now 42-years-old, Patrick has explained why he wanted his son to avoid a move to Old Trafford at this stage of his career, and how happy he is with how everything unfolded.
"I’m very satisfied with what he is doing. He doesn’t speak much, but he is someone who knows how to listen and is motivated, I would have liked to stay in Ajax for another year, but he chose for himself.
I think Roma is a good solution. A jump to the Premier League would have been difficult… I think United would have been too big a jump.
"Roma is an important club, but the pressures are lower. Roma must not win by force and it is a club that is used to good football.
"It is the ideal place for Justin right now. Then, who doesn’t dream of Barcelona? But Italian football is catching up and Justin can take advantage of it."
So not only has Patrick, now the assistant coach of Cameroon, stopped Justin from moving to Old Trafford once already, he is now already touting a future move to Barcelona for his son.
