You have to feel for Southampton, their performance has deserved a point. And Long was fouled in the build-up to Arsenal's penalty.

GOAL! Cazorla slams home the penalty down the middle, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to surely seal the win for Arsenal.

There is a delay before the penalty can be taken as Koscielny has a black eye after getting a boot in the face after the corner was taken.

PENALTY TO ARSENAL! Fonte is penalised for tangling with Giroud and bringing him down, looked harsh as both were wrestling with each other. The Saints players are furious.

Cedric puts the ball behind for a corner. Ozil's header is blocked by Romeu, the Saints make a last ditch challenge.

Forster is very close to getting a second booking for time wasting after taking his time again with a goal kick.

Bellerin sends a cross out of play. Wenger looks very frustrated on the touchline, his side have failed to test Forster in the second half.

SO CLOSE! Giroud's diving header goes agonisingly wide at the near post after a delightful cross from Cazorla.

DOUBLE SAVE: Cech parries Hojbjerg's drive before using his feet to keep out Long's scuffed effort on the rebound. The striker should have scored!

Ward-Prowse's first contribution is to concede a free-kick on the edge of the box after barging over Sanchez. Carzola curls it in but Forster gathers.

CHANCE! Monreal's low shot from inside the area is deflected behind for a corner by Cedric. THe set piece falls for Giroud but his looping header goes over.

Van Dikj with a rare mistake, Sanchez slides the ball across for Cazorla. His cross is deflected into the air but Giroud slips over at the far post and the chance goes begging.

SO CLOSE! Sanchez collects a nice through ball from Ozil, drives into the box and unleashes a ferocious effort which flies just over the bar.

WHAT A MISS! Tadic with a lovely backheel into the path of Long who is through on goal and chips the ball over Cech but his effort is well wide. That was a golden opportunity.
