Davies moves the ball to Barkley, and he rolls very nicely into the path of Lukaku - who drives into the box at inside-right. But Vertonghen stays calm, inserts a leg, and clears.

Lovely feet from Alli, transferring the ball from left to right and megging Barry in the same movement. He's duly fouled, and Spurs have a free-kick, 25 yards out and just left of centre. Eriksen, without a set-piece goal this season, curls his shot onto the top of the wall and Everton clear the immediate danger.

Lukaku barges down the left, so Alderweireld confiscates it with minimum effort and sets Spurs on the attack.

Incidentally, Spurs are playing for their ninth successive home league win.

Coleman whips over a cross, and Davies isn't far from the end of it. It does indeed seems as though he's starting to the left of Lukaku.

Tell me I just heard the Everton fans singing this classic.

I am going to miss White Hart Lane, though admire Daniel Levy's foresight in staying out of that Olympic Stadium kerfuffle.

The Proper Football Grounds derby is underway.

Technical gremlins interfered hence the minor silence, but the players are with us and we're good to go (once Sky have paid some bills).

Jamie Redknapp is saying that both Harry Arter and Ross Barkley told him that Moussa Dembele is their hardest opponent. Souness is right to say that he should still be a lot better, though.

"The fight will be decided on the midfield," says Koeman, explaining his selection.

Choking up, here.

Lukaku wants to play in the Champions League, and Graeme Souness seems to think he's better than I do, more or less signing him for Bayern Munich and everyone else. He is good, of course, but his finishing and touch are not as reliable as necessary - his nightmare in last season's FA Cup semi-final was up there with the best. On the other hand, if he's on, good luck.

The most needless scissors kick of all-time.
13:06
Romelu Lukaku is talking about having to adapt to the pressing style of Ronald Koeman; he doesn't mention the armchair style of Roberto Martinez.
13:03
I'm not certain quite how Everton will line-up for this one, given the four central-midfielders they've picked. I'm assuming Barkley will be on the right of Lukaku, Davies on the left, and in general a lot of congestion on what is already a tight pitch.

Leroy Sane has just been on Sky - he seems a pleasant young man. And he's also quite good at football, easily City's best player against Monaco. His use of the ball, at pace, is special. Think Everton should cope with him though.
