Chelsea turn to Donnarumma

We start with reports that suggest Chelsea will now turn to Gianluigi Donnarumma following Liverpool signing Alisson. The report says that with Thibaut Courtois likely to join Real Madrid Chelsea are also considering Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel and former Blue Petr Cech.
Paper Round's view: If Chelsea are going to replace Courtois they probably need to look long-term. However, Donnarumma isn't necessarily that player oddly. He comes across as someone who might seek to move to one of the big European sides in the near future. Cech would be a nice reunion but surely he wouldn't be the first choice?

Japan want Wenger

In The Mail it is reported that the Japan national team has made Arsene Wenger their No.1 target in their search for a new manager. The former Arsenal boss previously managed in the country and has regularly spoken fondly of his time there.
Paper Round's view: Imagine if Arsene Wenger joins Andres Iniesta, Fernando Torres and Lukas Podolski in Japan. We are fully on board with that.

Everton and Spurs battle for Zaha

Moving to The Mirror it is reported that Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are battling to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace. The clubs have offered Yannick Bolasie and Moussa Sissoko respectively in player-plus-cash deals whilst Borussia Dortmund and West Ham remain interested.
Paper Round's view: Zaha deserves a shot at European football and he would appear to be a perfect fit for Everton, Spurs or Dortmund. For Palace it's about making sure they get the best deal possible now.

Fabinho wants Mbappe at Anfield

And we end with quotes from Liverpool new boy Fabinho who has said he will try to persuade former team-mate Kylian Mbappe to join the Reds. He admitted jokingly that it will be tough but he is going to try.
Paper Round's view: It seems unlikely but this is probably a good time to give props to Liverpool for the work they've done in the market. A lot of talent has come into the club over the past couple of years...
