Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to be able to face Manchester United in the Champions League whilst Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he is fearful of the sack. It's Friday's Paper Round.

Ronaldo likely to face Man Utd

We start with a story that is doing the rounds on a lot of back pages and that is regarding Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo. The striker was sent off in his team's victory over Valencia which would have ruled him out of both matches against former club Manchester United. However the suggestion appears to be that UEFA will reduce his ban to one match.
Paper Round's view: Some will say that this is just special treatment from UEFA because it's Ronaldo but does anyone really think that what he did deserved a three-match ban? If anything we should be applauding some rare common sense from UEFA.

Poch aware of possible sack

We now have quotes from Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino who has said that he is more than aware of the possibility of the sack. Spurs have lost three games in a row and although Pochettino has said he is calm he is aware that if things don't turn around soon he will be on the firing line.
Paper Round's view: Given everything he has done for the club in the last few years, and how quickly he would be picked up by another club, it would certainly be unwise of Spurs to fire Pochettino. Perhaps the club should consider backing him in the transfer market...

De Bruyne aiming for Manchester derby

We now move to Kevin De Bruyne who has said that he is hoping to be back in training next month. From that his aim is to make his return from a knee ligament injury when City face rivals Manchester United on November 11.
Paper Round's view: This would be a huge boost for City. At the time of de Bruyne's injury the speculation was whether or not he could make it back in time for the derby. If he starts or is even on the bench against United it could be a big psychological factor.

Tennis could be set for another mega-rich tournament

Finally we end with The Telegraph who have an exclusive that tennis could be set for another mega-rich tournament. Following on from the Laver Cup investment grouped Kosmos, owned by Gerard Pique, want to start a 64-man exhibition tournament called the Majesty Cup. The prize money would be £7.5 million for the winner and the tournament would possibly take place after the US Open.
Paper Round's view: Like it or not it's clear that Pique is intent on shaking up tennis. How this competition would attract more viewers remains to be seen. A lot seems to be pinned on this winner-takes-all format. It's an interesting idea but is it as attractive as seeing Roger Federer playing alongside the likes of Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
