Chelsea want Massimiliano Allegri, Arsenal to keep Aaron Ramsey, Gareth Bale won't make his Real Madrid exit easy, and Liverpool still want Thomas Lemar.

Juventus prepare for Allegri departure

Juventus believe that Massimiliano Allegri will leave the club at the end of the season to join Chelsea. Chelsea are expected to replace Antonio Conte with Allegri after a disappointing second season at Stamford Bridge. They had wanted former Barcelona manasger Luis Enrique, but he is being slow to commit his future. As a result, they have turned their attention to Allegri, and Juventus are looking at Zinedine Zidane, Didier Deschamps and Simone Inzaghi.

Paper Round's view: Allegri has impressed at Juventus after a difficult time at AC Milan, who were themselves in the middle of a chaotic period. If Chelsea cannot get hold of Enrique, then signing a relatively attacking manager like Allegri, who has done well in Europe as well as domestically, makes sense. For Juventus, it is wise to take advantage of their relationship to sign Zidane, given the quality of player he can attract with his reputation.

Wenger desperate to tie down Ramsey

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to have Aaron Ramsey sign a new contract. He has a little over a season left on his current deal, and the club want to be sure that they do not lose the 27-year-old Welsh international on the cheap as they did Alexis Sanchez in the winter transfer window. However, Ramsey is on just £110,000 a week, and will be aware that some colleagues like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil earn roughly double and triple that, respectively.

Paper Round's view: Wenger has again left things too late. The time to sign a player to a new contract is when there are two years on his current deal, not with just one remaining. At that point other clubs can start disrupting the player and offering a better deal. Ramsey is not the equal of Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie or Sanchez, but teams will be ready to woo a player with a good goalscoring record and plenty of Premier League experience.

Bale not reay to quit Real Madrid

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Gareth Bale is not yet ready to leave Real Madrid. After spending all of the Champions League match against Juventus on the bench, he has grown even more frustrated with his lack of involvement in the team. Despite that, he is not willing to ask for a transfer, and if he is to leave the club, the onus will be on Real Madrid to do all the running in the process of getting him to sign elsewhere.

Paper Round's view: Gareth Bale has been under pressure in Madrid before, and still managed to win back his place in the team - that might be his intention this time. On the other hand, he may now see that other players are likelier to start in the first team, and he is making sure that he is not denied a loyalty bonus. If he maintains the attitude that he wants to stay at the club, then Real will have to cut him a bigger slice of any deal in order to move him on.

Liverpool retain interest in Lemar

After failing to sign Thomas Lemar, Liverpool have not given up their aim of signing the 22-year-old French international. Lemar told French television show Telefoot: "Regrets? Maybe. I was a little disappointed,’ following the collapse of the deal as Liverpool looked for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who left for Barceloan. Liverpool are also interested in his Monaco teammate, 17-year-old Christian Koffi, who is out of contract in the summer.

Paper Round's view: Liverpool have Naby Keita who will join in the summer, but another forward of Lemar's quality would give them huge strength in depth in attack. The worry for Liverpool would be that Lemar does so well at the World Cup in Russia, that he attracts the attention of a big club, who will be able to blow them out of the water financially. Signing Koffi might upset Monaco's owners, too, so they may have to weigh up which player they want most..
