Mohamed Salah is the most wanted man in Europe, while there’s going to be an exodus at Old Trafford this summer. It’s Tuesday’s Paper Round.

Ronaldo’s green light for Salah

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly given Real Madrid the green light to pursue Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah. Ronaldo and Salah both struck four goals on the weekend to resume their fine form, and now Don Balon claims – via the Express – that the former has urged his employers to sign the Egyptian, who is leading the race for the Premier League Golden Boot and also the European Golden Shoe. The Sun, meanwhile, reports that Barcelona and PSG are also interested in Salah, who would cost a world record £200m.
Paper Round’s view: Take anything said in Don Balon with a pinch of salt, but you do have to wonder what interest there will be for Salah this summer. £200m may be the figure banded around, but right now he is a priceless entity in football – you can be sure Liverpool won’t even engage in considering any offer once the season is over.

Leaving for Shaw

Luke Shaw is set on leaving Manchester United, and is considering whether he should complain to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward regarding Jose Mourinho’s freezing out of the left-back, the Mirror reports. The duo’s relationship hit another bump in the road after Mourinho was critical of Shaw’s performance against Brighton, and now it appears the 22-year-old will leave Old Trafford.

Paper Round’s view: We may never know the real reasons for this tumultuous relationship, and why it has gone so badly wrong for Shaw under Mourinho, but it’s evident he must leave for pastures new to resurrect his career. At 22, he has the world at his feet, and you would imagine a vast amount of clubs can see his potential – if nurtured properly.

All change please, all change

Shaw leads the list of 10 stars set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, according to the Mirror. Shaw has been linked with a move to Tottenham, while Juan Mata’s future continues to be speculated upon, despite the Spaniard extending his deal to 2019 back in January.
The other five United will reportedly look to cash in on are Ander Herrera, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian. Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be released, Marouane Fellaini becomes a free agent, and Michael Carrick is retiring.
Paper Round’s view: From the names above, only Mata would be a sizeable loss when you actually consider who could feature in a squad capable of competing with Man City for titles. Shaw needs to move elsewhere as discussed while Jones and Smalling have not reached the next level at Old Trafford. Darmian and Blind would be no great loss.

Jose in for Ramsey

Amid the talk of a United exodus, the Daily Star’s back-page splash claims Jose Mourinho wants to bring Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey to the club. The report also says Chelsea are interested in the Welshman, though it is Mourinho who is said to be most intent on bringing the 27-year-old to Manchester, Ramsey having snubbed the Red Devils for Arsenal a decade ago.
Paper Round’s view: Big changes are afoot at Old Trafford, or so it would seem. Who really knows what’s on Mourinho’s mind, but you would imagine his summer plans are impossible to ignore, given there’s the FA Cup and not much else to focus on.
