Antonio Conte refrained from making any reference to ill-feelings towards Chelsea in a dignified statement released by the League Managers Association following his departure from the club.

The Blues confirmed that the Italian had been sacked as head coach last Friday in a 61-word statement, 28 days before the start of the new Premier League season.
Former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has been appointed as Conte’s successor at Stamford Bridge, but after Chelsea failed to thank him for winning the Premier League and FA Cup during his two years at the club, the Italian wished his former employers well for the future.
Conte, who oversaw the start of pre-season at Chelsea’s Cobham training base, began in his statement: “I would like to thank all of my friends at Chelsea Football Club for their hard work and support over the past two seasons which enabled us to win the Premier League and FA Cup together.

“To the players, whose talent and commitment was so important to our successes, I thank them for everything. It has been a pleasure working with them every day. To my staff, who always worked so hard, I must say thank you and well done for their professionalism and dedication throughout.”
The former Juventus and Italy boss had 12 months remaining on his £9million-a-year contract and is seeking compensation in full up front from Chelsea, rather than on a month-by-month basis.
The west London club's conventional policy is to continue to pay a sacked manager's salary until their contract expires or they find new employment.
Conte angered Chelsea hierarchy within days of completing his first season at the club with his ill-advised text message to Diego Costa, in which he deemed the striker was surplus to requirements. He also clashed with David Luiz and there were concerns that other star players would leave if he stayed at the club.

But Conte, who refused to thank any of Chelsea's board members, continued: “I have enjoyed my time in England and London so much and I want to thank the Chelsea fans who have been amazing to me and my Family.
“It was fantastic for me to be able to share my emotions, passion and enthusiasm throughout two unforgettable seasons with these amazing Chelsea supporters, who will always stay in my heart.
“I hope Chelsea will continue to be successful and I wish everyone well for next season. I have made many memories during my time with Chelsea, which I will take with me into my next challenge.”
