According to media reports, the Belgium midfielder is holding talks with United over a possible move out of Old Trafford ahead of the Chinese Super League transfer window opening on February 28.
It has been suggested a delegation from China were due to hold talks with the United chief executive Ed Woodward to discuss the transfer on Tuesday afternoon.
Fellaini is out injured for three weeks with a calf muscle problem, and has played only 31 minutes so far under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a substitute against Reading and Cardiff.
Guangzhou Evergrande have been linked with the 31-year-old, but the Daily Mail claims another club are keen on landing the player.
United paid Everton £27.5m to sign Fellaini when David Moyes was manager in 2013.
He signed a £140,000 a week deal last summer under Jose Mourinho, but it seems like his time at United is up under Solskjaer.
He has made 177 appearances for United, starting 106 games and scoring 22 goals.
