Football news: Unai Emery 'doubted' Liverpool's Mo Salah could perform at top club

Unai Emery has revealed he turned down the opportunity to sign Liverpool ace Mo Salah while managing French side Paris Saint-Germain.
The Arsenal manager said the Egypt international was a consideration, but admitted: "We had some doubts."
However, he said the 26-year-old had clearly proved those doubts to be unfounded.
Asked what those doubts were ahead of Arsenal's showdown with Liverpool on Saturday, Emery said: "How he can take the performance in one big team. For example, like PSG in Paris.
But today I can say to you … if we sign him, we sign one player in the top five in the world.
Salah stands one goal behind current top league scorer - Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - with 12 goals and six assists so far this season, and was last season's top scorer with 32.
Asked about his team's chances against the Premier League table toppers, Emery said: "The leader in the table is Liverpool and it is because they are doing things very well. They are established with Klopp in this process.
"For us it is a good example but also a good test, how is the difference between them and us. They are unbeaten and with many great performances as a team and individually. We need this test."
