Harry Maguire signs five-year Leicester City deal

Harry Maguire has signed a new five-year deal at Leicester City.

Maguire had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer but remained at the King Power Stadium.

"Ever since I came to this club, I've always reiterated how good they've been to me," Maguire told the club website.

"They gave me an opportunity to play in the Premier League and built a great platform for me to go and perform at the World Cup, so I thank them a lot. I owe them a lot and I'm looking forward to the future."

The 25-year-old central defender enjoyed a fine World Cup as England exceeded expectations to reach the semi-finals.

Maguire joined Leicester from Hull City in 2016 following their relegation from the Premier League.
