Ayew comes on. He is immediately in the thick of it, finding Kouyate who blazes a shot over.

Good defending from van Aanholt to block a shot from Sanchez with Rashford lurking.
- OffAndros TownsendCrystal Palace
- OnJeffrey SchluppCrystal Palace
Schlupp comes on for Townsend, who will be ruing that missed chance.
The home side are putting in crosses at every opportunity but Hennessey is there to punch clear before the flag goes up for a foul on a Palace player.
As it stands United will remain 8th, six points behind Spurs who play Chelsea at 17:30 GMT which you can follow on the Eurosport website..
GREAT SAVE! United have a corner. Young's delivery is cleared by Tomkins. The ball is played back in and Lukaku's header is brilliantly kept out by Hennessey at full stretch.
Lukaku miscontrols the ball as he tries to cushion it down, he has faded in the second half.
CLOSE! Martial picks the ball up on the edge of the box and fires his shot into the side-netting, the keeper looked to have it covered.
Palace have finished the game strongly, a cross is played towards Zaha who is off balance and cannot put it goalwards, but he is flagged off-side.
Not sure what Matic and Lindelof were doing there, they allowed Townsend to get through and he should have scored.
WHAT A CHANCE! Sakho finds Townsend who bursts forward, it bobbles past three players and hes through on goal but puts it wide.
Rashford releases Sanchez who has Martial and Lukaku ahead of him on the break but he slides his pass behind them and its a throwin.
SHOCKING CHALLENGE! Milivojevic goes down in agony after a horror late studs up challenge from Fellaini. He did not even get a booking, it could have easily been a red.
- OffPaul PogbaManchester United
- OnAlexis SánchezManchester United
Sanchez comes on for Pogba, who has faded in the second half.
We are midway through the second half. Sanchez is preparing to come on for United's last throw of the dice.
This has very much been a 50-50 game given how the first half went and how the second period has been. You can see either side nicking it with a late goal.
GOOD SAVE! Townsend sends in a cross and De Gea blocks Kouyate's effort from distance and he keeps out the rebound from van Aanholt.
- OffJuan MataManchester United
- OnMarcus RashfordManchester United
Rashford is on for Mata, which is a tad surprising. Martial now joins Lukaku up front.
- OffJesse LingardManchester United
- OnMarouane FellainiManchester United
Lingard makes way for Fellaini, time to stick the ball in the mixer.
Fellaini is preparing to come on.
DISALLOWED GOAL! Young's drive is parried by Hennessey, it falls to Lukaku who puts in the rebound but he is correctly flagged off-side but only just.
Lindelof is lucky to escape a booking for a late challenge and then throwing the ball in the air.
Brilliant defending from Wan-Bissaka showing his pace against Young, he has a bright future.
Meyer drives down the line and puts in a cross but De Gea gathers. Seconds later Townsend and Zaha combine well down the line, promising for the visitors.
Young's whipped ball in takes a deflection and its a corner. Mata's delivery is headed behind by Sakho. This time the corner is cleared by Milivojevic.
Palace have conceded 14 2nd half goals this season, only Fulham and Burnley have conceded more.
- 2nd Half
KICK OFF: Palace get the 2nd half underway. No changes made by either side.
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: It is 0-0 somehow with both sides spurning golden opportunities. Palace also had a goal ruled out for off-side. Zaha and Hodgson are deep in conversation as the players head to the tunnel.
There will be one added minute.
Replays show that was a good decision by the officials, Kouyate's shoulder was off-side.
DISALLOWED GOAL! Meyer is tripped by Lindelof, thats a cheap free-kick in a dangerous area. The ball in is a good one and Kouyate heads it in but he is flagged off-side.
Tomkins hooks it off Martial's shins after Hennessey hesitates on whether to come off his line, good defending there to get his keeper out of trouble.
Darmian, making his first start since August, wins a corner off Meyer. The delivery is a comfortable for Hennessey who this time gathers it.
Pogba tries his luck from around 30 yards but its well wide, Palace will be content with efforts like that.
Milivojevic has space and wins a corner off Young. Townsend's delivery towards the far post is hooked away by Lindelof. Its played back in but Mata deals with the danger.
De Gea does well to get a hand to a cross to keep it away from reaching Zaha. This game has sprung into life in the past 10 minutes..
GREAT SAVE! Hennessey's brilliant diving stop keeps out Lingard's side-footed effort, it comes back to Martial whose header is straight at the keeper. Both sides have spurned wonderful chances in the first half..
- Yellow cardMamadou SakhoCrystal Palace
WHAT A CHANCE! Sakho is booked for a rugby challenge on Lingard who had dispossessed him. Its a free-kick in a dangerous position, Mata's delivery is headed wide by Smalling at the far post after the keeper was in no-mans land, he should have scored!
Smalling and Matic backed off there as Palace had a 3 on 2 situation. The visitors will not get many better opportunities than that, plenty for Mourinho to ponder - his side are not pressing hard enough.
WHAT A CHANCE! Palace break, Meyer feeds Zaha who rolls it across to van Aanholt who skews his shot horribly wide!
Roy Hodgson will be reasonably pleased with the way his side have defended and the way Zaha has played on the counter attack.
CHANCE! Lingard's snap shot is deflected into the path of Martial whose effort hits Kouyate in the groin and he needs treatment.
WHAT AN EFFORT! Lingard gives the ball away, Zaha with another 25-yarder which goes inches wide with De Gea at full stretch.
CLOSE! Mata does well to find Lingard who tees it up into the path of Pogba who leans back and bends his effort over the bar. Good move.
CHANCE! Zaha is 25 yards and shifts onto his right foot and tries a long-ranger which flies well over De Gea's bar.
Zaha, who has been on the periphery so far, backheels it to Townsend on the flank, its played to van Aanholt who is flaggged off-side as Palace fail to put the ball into the box from a good position.
Lukaku, marked by Sakho, looks a tad isolated up front in the early stages. Martial has sprayed some nice passes but theres plenty of space between the two of them.
- Yellow cardLuka MilivojevicCrystal Palace
OUCH! Crunching challenge from Milivojevic on Lingard as he tried to sprint away, United had a 2 on 1 situation there. From the freekick midway in the Palace half, Mata's delivery is nodded down by Smalling but its cleared.
Good defending from Palace so far, keeping a tight shape in the face of a bright start from the home side.
CLOSE! Meyer's half clearance is seized upon by Matic whose ball over the top is for Martial who cannot get it under control and Hennessey gathers.
Just an excuse to take a closer inspection of Fellaini's hairstyle..
CLOSE! Lukaku heads down Pogba's cross to Lingard whose drive is blocked by Wan Bissaka and its a corner. Mata's delivery is headed away by Tomkins.
Young is playing at left-back today in the absence of Shaw. He floats a ball down the flank to Martial, who has 5 goals in his past 5 games.
- 1st Half
KICK OFF: Here we go folks. United get the game underway..
That aforementioned Ambrose stunner from 2011..
Five minutes until kick-off at Old Trafford!
It has felt a bit like Groundhog Day this week with Mourinho criticising Shaw, Martial, Lingard and Rashford for lacking "personality" and then later saying the quotes were taken out of context. And being linked to a player they sold with reports they are interested in re-signing Lyon's Memphis Depay.
United have never lost in 18 Premier League matches against Palace, which is a competition record.
The Eagles have lost 11 successive league matches at Old Trafford, with their last win coming in December 1989. But they did win a League Cup tie away to United in 2011 courtesy of a wonder stike from Darren Ambrose.
Lukaku in for Rashford has sparked surprise on social media given the Belgian has failed to score in his last 10 games for the club. Pogba is back from injury after missing the Manchester derby, while Sanchez and Fred continue to be the forgotten men on the bench.
For the visitors, Zaha is back to face his old club as they aim to end a run of 7 games without a win.
MANCHESTER UNITED: De Gea, Darmian, Smalling, Lindelof, Young, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Martial, Lukaku…Subs: Grant, Jones, Valencia, Fred, Fellaini, Sanchez, Rashford.
