Mauricio Pochettino says that one of the reasons Tottenham Hotspur struggled in the summer transfer market was the spiralling cost of their new stadium.

And the Tottenham manager says that the negative financial impact of Brexit has further contributed to those financial issues for the club.
According to Pochettino, Brexit has added another 30 per cent on to the cost of building their state-of-the-art new stadium, which will host it's first official game next month.

And talking in his opening media conference of the Premier League season, the 46-year-old said:
"What the club is doing is showing it is so brave. Building a new training ground, finishing this summer the [player's] lodge was a massive investment.
"Building a stadium that is nearly £1 billion. That is true, don't believe in £400m, that is the truth.
Then with Brexit it's worse because the cost is 30 per cent more. That is a drama, I feel sorry for the English people.
Spurs set a Premier League record by becoming the first team in the transfer restriction era to not sign a single player during the window this summer, and the squad will begin their campaign against Newcastle United on Saturday.
