It was the clip that cheered everyone up during the international break: Jose Mourinho falling flat on his face.

The Manchester United manager tried to step over a rope barrier at Wembley Stadium, only to clip it and go tumbling to the floor. Awkward.

However, he has taken his fall in good taste, laughing it off during a press conference ahead of United’s visit to high-flying Watford on Saturday.

"It was a good dive. I protected my phone and it was good," he said.

He added that the watching stewards were correct to not award him a foul:

No penalty. Maybe a yellow card.
