A rocket of a strike from Kyle Walker, his first for Manchester City, gave Pep Guardiola's side a 2-1 win against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The hosts came flying out of the traps and opened the scoring after just eight minutes when Raheem Sterling curled in an unstoppable effort from just inside the area, the England international capitalising on a mis-placed pass by Newcastle skipper Jamaal Lascelles.
City continued to dominate, creating plenty of opportunities in the process, but then the visitors grabbed an equaliser out of nowhere, defender DeAndre Yedlin making a 70-yard run into the box to poke home Saloman Rondon's cross.

Pep Guardiola's side restored their advantage seven minutes after the restart when Walker scored his first goal for the club with a rocket from 30 yards which left Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubrakva with no chance.
Newcastle had Dubravka to thank for keeping his side in the contest, as Man City had to settl for just the one-goal margin.
City remain two points behind league leaders Liverpool and Chelsea following those dropped points last week after the draw against Wolves.
Newcastle remain in the bottom three with just one point from their opening four matches although they have included Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and now City.

TALKING POINT

Did Man City miss Leroy Sane? With such a formidable attack, the hosts were still largely wasteful in front of goal. The Germany international hasn't started any of City's league games this season and didn't even make the squad with reports circulating that Pep Guardiola has grown frustrated with the forward's attitude, but considering the chances his team mates missed, you have to ask if his side missed him. Riyad Mahrez will take some to settle in, but the early signs suggest the Algerian is a downgrade to Sane.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Kyle Walker (Man City) - The wing-back isn't known for his attacking prowess, but what a way to grab your first goal in Manchester City colours. As well as fulfilling his defensive duties, Walker was an outlet for his side on the flank, particularly in the second-half.

KEY MOMENTS

8' - GOAL! Man City 1-0 Newcastle: Raheem Sterling with a typical Raheem Sterling goal. Unforgivable from Lascelles as his casual pass gifts City possession in a dangerous area. Mendy works the ball to Sterling in a wide position and the Englishman is allowed to cut in and punishes Newcastle with a curled finish into the far corner.
30' - GOAL! Man City 1-1 Newcastle: Who on the earth saw this coming? Yedlin levels the scores totally against the run of play! It's lazy defending from City, they fail to pick up the run of the Newcastle midfielder as he makes a late surge into the box to poke home Rondon's cross.
