This looked like being a tight encounter between two teams who had suffered difficult starts to the season. In the end, Chelsea blew away Wolves. This was a hugely impressive performance from Lampard's men. With the exception of a minor second half wobble, they dominated from start to finish.

FULL TIME: Wolves 2-5 Chelsea
- GoalMason MountChelsea
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Wolves 2 Chelsea 5 (96 mins - Mason Mount). It's a fifth goal for Chelsea as the away side put the finishing touches on a very impressive win. Mount picked up the ball, he turned the Wolves defence inside and out and then bended in a finish with his right foot. That's finally the points in the bag for the Blues.
Chelsea surely have the points in the bag now. Jonny took on the shot from distance, but it was straight at Kepa, who makes the routine save. Wolves now look somewhat resigned.
It's all got a bit frantic at Molineux in these final few minutes. Wolves have Chelsea pegged back in their own half and the away side are starting to look a bit desperate.
Wolves are really giving this one last push. They have four minutes to find two goals, but the home supporters inside Molineux are pressing them forward. They couldn't, could they?
Another penalty claim! Cutrone goes down inside the Chelsea box. He was implying that he was fouled by Tomori, but the officials, with the help of VAR, decide there was nothing in it.
There will be SIX minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
Wolves are on course for their first home defeat in the Premier League since January 2 when they lost to Crystal Palace. There's still time for them to save something. Just enough on the clock...
PICTURE: The man who has grabbed all the headlines.
Molineux has woken up again. Wolves have shown great spirit in this second half, but they gave themselves so much work to do after a dreadful first half that defeat still looks likely.
What looked like being a statement win from Chelsea will now be a bit more edgy in the final stages of this match. Wolves are not out of this yet. They have five minutes to salvage something.
- GoalPatrick CutroneWolverhampton Wanderers
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Wolves 2 (85 mins - Patrick Cutrone) Chelsea 4. A second goal back for Wolves. They couldn't, could they? Cutrone gets his first goal in English football. Kepa saved Doherty's first shot and the Italian striker was on hand to bundle home from close range. Five minutes left to play. Is there enough time?
Across the face! Wolves gave up the ball inside their own half allowing Willian to feed Azpilicueta, but his pass across the face of goal can't find anyone in a white shirt in the middle.
This win will improve the mood around Stamford Bridge. Might the back three system be the way forward for Chelsea under Lampard? The signs have been positive this afternoon.
- Yellow cardRomain SaïssWolverhampton Wanderers
Saiss is shown a yellow for giving away a a freekick that led to a Zouma header over the bar.
The Premier League have indeed awarded the Wolves goal as an Abraham own goal. Although that is harsh on the striker given that it was Kepa who palmed the ball into him.
Wolves are giving this a go late on, but they've given themselves too much work to do. There will be something of an inquest after this. This hasn't been a good start to the season by Wolves.
- OffTammy AbrahamChelsea
- OnMichy BatshuayiChelsea
Batshuayi comes on for the final 10 minutes of the match. Abraham gets some ovation from the away fans.
Lampard threw the water bottle he was drinking from to the ground after Wolves scored that goal. Chelsea have yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League so far this season.
Chelsea are wavering a bit here. That's perhaps to be expected given the comfortable nature of this game for them after going 4-0 up, but they just need to be a little careful.
Was that a penalty? Wolves believe that they should have been awarded a spot kick with Doherty going down under the challenge of Alonso, but there wasn't much in that incident.
- OffRaúl JiménezWolverhampton Wanderers
- OnMorgan Gibbs-WhiteWolverhampton Wanderers
Wolves have also made a change, their second of the match, and the highly rated Gibbs-White comes on.
- OffMateo KovacicChelsea
- OnRoss BarkleyChelsea
A change from Lampard and Barkley comes on for the final 20 minutes of the match.
The header was a decent one from Saiss, but the replays show that Kepa should have done better with that. The young Spanish goalkeeper palmed the ball into Abraham. Very poor.
- Own-goalTammy AbrahamChelsea
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Wolves 1 (70 mins - Romain Saiss) Chelsea 4. The home side have got one goal back. Set pieces have been the Achilles heel of Chelsea this season and so it has proved again. Moutinho lifted a corner kick into the box and Saiss managed to squeeze a header through Kepa.
Mount should score! That had to be a fifth goal for Chelsea! Jorginho played the ball in behind for Mount, the youngster rounded Patricio who was off his line, but could only find the side netting with his shot!
Zouma has done a decent job since coming on for Chelsea at the break. He has struggled early on this season, but the back three shape seems to have suited the Blues.
Abraham has certainly answered his critics. Many doubted that he could score goals at the top level. Now he has seven goals in his last three Premier League appearances. Emphatic.
PICTURE: Abraham has been the main man for Chelsea.
This will be an unfamiliar feeling for Wolves. It's not often that they get turned over at home like this. In fact, their last league defeat at Molineux was just after the turn of the year!
- Yellow cardTammy AbrahamChelsea
It's been a busy few minutes for Abraham as he picks up a yellow card.
So unlucky! That perhaps should have been a Wolves goal. Jota fizzed a cross right across the six yard box, Cutrone threw himself at it, but he couldn't force it in from close range.
This has been a tough start to life under Lampard for Chelsea, but the emergence of Abraham and Mount as top tier Premier League talents has been a bright point. What talent.
This game is well and truly over. Chelsea have played a very shrewd game here and Abraham is the one who has done the damage. There's no way back for Wolves now.
There's no stopping Abraham at the moment. His first two goals were the result of good service, but the young striker created this opportunity for himself. He had Coady on toast.
- GoalTammy AbrahamChelsea
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Wolves Chelsea 4 (55 mins - Tammy Abraham). It's a hat trick for Abraham! What a performance this has been from the young striker who now has seven goals in his last three games! Abraham skipped past Coady and made no mistake in firing a low strike into the far corner of the Wolves net!
Wolves need more from Jimenez and Jota. Those are the two players around which their attack is built, but Chelsea have done a good job of keeping them under wraps to this point.
The TV cameras show Rudiger on the Chelsea bench. The German defender has some ice on his groin, but he is laughing and joking around, so that is probably a good sign for the Blues.
Of course, being three goals to the good Chelsea now have the luxury of sitting back and inviting Wolves on top of them. That opens up space for them to expose on the counter.
This has been a bright start to the second half from Wolves. They are looking to push the matter a bit more in the opposition half. Chelsea are pegged back in their own box for the moment.
Rudiger's return from injury looked to have steadied Chelsea at the back in that first half. He looked to have tweaked something so that would obviously be bad news if he's out again.
- OffAntonio RüdigerChelsea
- OnKurt ZoumaChelsea
Chelsea have also made a change with Zouma coming on for Rudiger. That's a concern for Lampard.
- OffLeander DendonckerWolverhampton Wanderers
- OnPatrick CutroneWolverhampton Wanderers
Nuno made a change at the break. Cutrone has been thrown on for Wolves. They need him to make an impact.
Is there any way back for Wolves? They were toothless in the first half and looked vulnerable at the back. They have dug themselves a big hole. Can they get out of it in this second half?
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Chelsea are 3-0 up on Wolves in this Premier League fixture.

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Wolves 0-3 Chelsea. This match was meandering along until Chelsea struck three goals in the space of just over 10 minutes. Abraham has been in ruthless mood in front of goal.
Nuno needs to come up with a new game plan for the second half. This approach just hasn't worked for Wolves. This match might already be a case of damage limitation for them.
There will be two minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the first half.
This has been the perfect away performance from Chelsea so far. They have been solid at the back, have hit out at pace when they have had the ball and have taken their opportunities.
Just a few weeks ago, there were questions over Abraham. Some doubted that he was good enough for the Premier League. Well, he's now scored six times in his last three games.
- GoalTammy AbrahamChelsea
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Wolves 0 Chelsea 3 (41 mins - Tammy Abraham). Chelsea are three goals to the good before the half time interval and this match might be done and dusted already. Alonso teased the cross into the Wolves box and Abraham was on hand to head home. The young striker is on first at the moment! He can't stop scoring.
The return of Rudiger has undoubtedly made a difference for Chelsea. They look so much more sure of themselves with the German in the back four. Wolves have had little joy.
On the other hand, Nuno will be unhappy with the performance of Wolves so far. They have been nullified. Where is Neves? Where is Moutinho? Where is Jota? Where is Jimenez?
Lampard will be relatively pleased with what he has seen from his team in this first half. Things have been tight and a bit conservative, but Chelsea haven't looked like conceding.
This match has changed in the space of just a few minutes. Chelsea have daylight between themselves and Wolves. Abraham now has five goals in his last three league appearances.
- GoalTammy AbrahamChelsea
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Wolves 0 Chelsea 2 (34 mins - Tammy Abraham). It's a second for Chelsea and this time it's Abraham who finds the back of the net! Tomori burst into the Wolves box, he played the pass to Mount, the ball then popped out to Abraham and the young striker swivelled and finished low into Patricio's net! Chelsea are flying now!
The bend on that strike from Tomori was unbelievable. On first glance it seemed that Patricio should have done better, but the replays show just how much movement was on the ball.
- GoalFikayo TomoriChelsea
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Wolves 0 Chelsea 1 (31 mins - Fikayo Tomori). What a sensational strike and Chelsea have the lead! Chelsea played a short corner only for the routine to go awry. The ball then came out to Tomori and he lashed a shot into the top corner of the net from the best part of 30 yards out! That's a stunner of a goal! What a moment!
Lampard made the decision to pick Willian over Pulisic for this game, but one wonders if the Chelsea manager is now regretting that call. Willian has been very passive so far.
Chelsea need someone to pick up the ball and drive with it. This is the role that Kovacic should be performing for the away side. The Croatian is being asked to sit deep, though.
Abraham has been in great goalscoring form of late, but he has been quiet in the early stages of this match. The Chelsea striker is being denied any kind of service. Nothing in behind.
It was Wolves who started as the brighter of the two teams in the opening few minutes, but Chelsea are now starting to take a grip of things. The hosts have been toothless so far.
In other news... Tottenham have scored three first half goals in their game against Crystal Palace, while Manchester United are 1-0 up against Leicester City at Old Trafford.
Given the attacking threat that Wolves have on the pitch, Nuno will be disappointed by how toothless his team has been in the opening 25 minutes of this match. Very little created.
A Chelsea chance! That's the first time the away side have caused alarm in the Wolves defence. The corner kick was played to the near post, but Rudiger's flick is deflected wide of the near post. That wasn't too far away.
Not a lot happening in this game at the moment. Both teams struggling to get going in the final third. It's all happening in the middle of the pitch. I'll wake you up when something happens...
Chelsea need more from Alonso in an attacking sense. The Spaniard is often suspect going towards his own goal, but he offers the Blues something in the final third of the pitch.
There isn't much between these two teams at the moment. That perhaps shouldn't come as a surprise given that Wolves and Chelsea are expected to be vying for position in the table this season.
Good passing play between Jonny and Jota sees a low pass played into Jimenez in the box, but Mount was aware to the danger and tracked back to make the recovery clearance.
Of course, Chelsea made great use of the wing back system under Conte, but it appears that they are out of their groove in this shape. Alonso and Azpilicueta are pretty isolated.
Chelsea are showing intent whenever they come forward on the attack, but it must be said that there is very little fluidity to their play. They are giving the ball away a lot. Struggling to get going.
The biggest problem Lampard has faced in the early days of his Chelsea tenure is that his defence has been extremely vulnerable. The return of Rudiger should help in that regard.
This has the makings of an entertaining encounter. Both teams are looking to attack whenever they have the ball. Wolves and Chelsea are in the same boat - they need three points.
Once again, Traore causes Chelsea problems by driving to the byline and getting a cros into the box. The away side clears, but the Wolves winger is having joy down the right flank.
Wolves are the ones seeing the majority of the ball in the early stages of this match. Chelsea seem quite happy to sit deep and then strike out on the rapid counter when they win it back.
Early chance! That was an opportunity for Wolves, with Traore getting a low ball into the box from the right wing. But Christensen came across to cut it out before it could reach Jimenez.
Wolves were one of the success stories of last season, but they have struggled to reignite that spark over the first few games of the 2019/20 campaign. Can they find it again here?
It looks like Lampard has opted for a back three for the first time this season. Of course, there was another new Chelsea manager to switched to a back three and then romped the league... just saying.
It's been a difficult start for both these teams this season albeit for different reasons. Chelsea have struggled defensively, while Wolves have found it difficult to balance league and European football.
Abraham has scored four goals in his last two Premier League appearances for Chelsea. You get the feeling he will need to continue that form if Chelsea are to win this one.

Wolves are one of the teams tipped to break into the top six this season and Chelsea are one of the teams they could topple. What happens today could have a big bearing on that race.

All the big names are in the Wolves starting lineup for this one. Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Jota and Jimenez... these are players who can do real damage to Chelsea. Dangerous.
Interesting team from Lampard! Rudiger is back in, as is Christenson, for Chelsea this afternoon. Willian has been handed his first start of the season. Will this be a back three?
