Four journalists squabbled over which football rule they would change. You had the casting vote in our Twitter poll. Your winner? Not one of the argued-for changes.
Eurosport’s new series ‘The Debate’ saw four writers make a case for four different rules they would changed in football before having their arguments picked apart in our new vodcast and podcast ‘Game of Opinions’.
Smaller matchday squads brought home an embarrassingly low 8.1% of the vote, concussion subs came in third with 22% while sin bins took up second position with 32% of the vote.
However, the winner, which no one argued for after Pete Sharland changed his opinion, was stop-clocks.
THE ARGUMENTS
- Carrie Dunn made the case for concussion subs - 'Enough is enough - it's time to bring it in'. Read her views Here.
- Marcus Foley went for reducing the number of players in a matchday squad. Read his views Here..
- Pete Sharland claimed penalties are tough enough, kill the ball after it’s taken. Read his views Here.
- Ben Snowball argued sin bins are what football needs. Read his views Here..
