An easy win for Arsenal in the end. It might be noteworthy if it leads to Aubameyang going on a run of goals we saw towards the end of last season.

David Luiz is good at meeting set pieces but not so good at converting them. Again meeting a corner but not directing anywhere near the goal.

Anderson comes on for Almiron for the visitors. Killing time?

Willian hits a free kick in an inviting central positon straight into the Newcastle wall.

Martinelli replaces Smith-Rowe.

Hendrick on for Longstaff for Newcastle.

Aubameyang is replaced by Willian so no first Arsenal hat-trick for him. He wouldn't get a better opportunity.

GOAL! Great run by Cedric, exchanging passes with Saka before getting to the by-line and pulling back to Aubameyang who side-footed home. VAR cameras suggest the ball was just kept in by the right back

Newcastle seem to be happy to see a 2-0 defeat out. If they over-commit they know the Gunners are in the mood to take advantage of them.

Harper replaces Andy Carroll for the visitors.

Partey is replaced by Elneny. It's been a good display from the ex-Atletico man.

Wonderful save from Darlow jumping up star-shaped to deny Lacazette's header from Saka's cross.

Tiernay plays a ball behind the Newcastle defence but no striker is there to finish.

Almiron plays in Wison but his effort at goal is bocked well by Holding.

GOAL! Smith-Rowe runs at Laschelles teasing him and drawing him close and waiting for Saka to arrive in the perfect spot before pulling the ball back to the England international who slams it home.

Saka plays a give and go with Lacazette inside the box and then tries to place it inside the left hand post but Darlow gets down well to stop once more.

A decent effort from Carroll, playing close to Wilson he gets the ball off his partner 25 yards from goal and tries a low effort at goal but Leno watches it fly a yard or so wide.

Cedric gives away a free kick just by the sideline 25 yards from goal. This time it's a better delivery from Shelvey but Carroll can't get a good contact from the edge of the box and Leno gathers comfortably.

GOAL! No mistake from Aubameyang this time. Newcastle were ridiculously set up at the back so one long ball from Partey left Aubameyang one-on-one with Clark and he got himself room on his left foot before blasting past Darlow.

Shelvey for the second time puts in a corner which is easily cleared at the front post.
