GOAAAALLLLL! Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa (Barkley): Oh my!!! Villa are ahead! Their perfect start to the Premier League is set to continue! He picks up the ball in a deep position, he's invited to shoot and from 25 yards he finds the corner of the net!
FOUR minutes will be added on!
Twinkle toes Grealish skips past a couple of challenges and manages to pick out Barkley. His shot is charged down. But that was beautiful close control from the Villa playmaker. Could he have got a shot away though?
Grealish continues to pull the strings for Villa as he forces a corner - but Traore, who came on a few minutes ago, cannot create anything with his delivery. Five left.
Tielemans delivers an awkward cross but Villa survive. Leicester are applying their first sustained spell of pressure since early in the second half.
Douglas Luiz fouls Maddison, who has been lively for Leicester since his introduction. He plays a clever short pass to Perez who bursts into a crowded penalty area and sees his shot blocked.
- OffNampalys MendyLeicester City
- OnHamza ChoudhuryLeicester City
Leicester sub: Hamza Choudhury comes on for Mendy.
Over! Slimani, making his first appearance for the club since 2018, cuts the ball back to Barnes. He creates the space for a shot but blazes well over.
One off the training ground from Villa. They work the free-kick short to Barkley but he runs into trouble.
- Yellow cardJonny EvansLeicester City
Yellow card! Watkins steals the ball from Mendy in midfield and drives at the Leicester defence. Evans takes one for the team and trips the Villa forward.
- Yellow cardTimothy CastagneLeicester City
Yellow card! Castagne has his number taken for a foul on Grealish (big surprise!).
Maddison slams his free-kick straight into the Aston Villa wall.

- Yellow cardDouglas LuizAston Villa
Yellow card! Maddison is tugged back by Douglas Luiz, who goes into the book for his efforts. This is a dangerous position for a Leicester free-kick.
Shot! Villa are becoming increasingly dangerous as we enter the final 20 minutes of the contest. Watkins is well placed but his weak right-footed attempt is straight forward for Schmeichel.
Straight at Schmeichel! Grealish tees up Douglas Luiz on the edge of the penalty area, but he shoots straight down the middle and it's a comfortable save for Schmeichel.
- OffDennis PraetLeicester City
- OnJames MaddisonLeicester City
Leicester sub: It's taken longer than anticipated but Maddison finally comes on for Leicester, replacing Praet.
Grealish continues to drive forward for Villa, racing through on the counter-attack. He finds McGinn, who tries to tease the ball into the centre, searching for Watkins, but it's intercepted.
Save! Tielemans gets his free-kick over the wall but can't get enough power behind the shot to test Martinez.
Justin draws the foul from Cash, winning Leicester a free-kick in a dangerous area.
Shot! That's Leicester's first attempt for some time. Tielemans wins the ball back in midfield and tries his luck from 25 yards. But it's straight at Martinez via Mings' deflection.
Villa are enjoying their best spell of the game now as Trezeguet forces another corner. It's Fofana who rises highest to clear McGinn's deep cross this time.
So close! Grealish whips in the corner and Konsa nips in between Praet and Justin and heads just wide! That's the closest we've come to an opening goal!
Castagne is very late on Grealish - but the referee keeps his cards in his pocket on this occasion. Targett delivers the free-kick, but Mendy clears the danger. Villa regain possession and win a corner.
Grealish is released on the left by Barkley, forcing the corner. Leicester initially don't clear their lines effectively from McGinn's delivery but do so on the second attempt.
Villa have had to absorb a lot of pressure since the restart, but they've finally got a hold of the ball as they knock it around their backline.
Evans, who has played three games for Northern Ireland in the space of a week recently, is caught by Trezeguet and goes down holding his knee. He'll be fine though.
Trezeguet concedes a free-kick on the left flank. There's pinball inside the Villa penalty area as the visitors try to scramble it clear. Perez's shot takes a deflection for a Leicester corner.
- 2nd Half
Kick-off! No changes in personnel, but James Maddison is preparing to come on for Leicester. He might provide the spark the Foxes are missing.
Half-time: Leicester 0-0 Aston Villa. We are on course for the first goalless draw in the Premier League this season.
Into two minutes of stoppage time. Grealish releases Targett with a lovely pass down the left but the cross from the full-back is poor.
No foul says the referee as Mendy goes down. Watkins pounces and wins the corner with a shot. However, the linesman's flag is raised for offside. Replays show he was just on. Never mind.
Villa have yet to have a shot on target but Smith will be the happier manager at half-time.
Over! Trezeguet is fouled and from the resulting free-kick Targett whips his 20-yard effort over the bar. Could this be the first goalless draw in the Premier League this season?!
McGinn intercepts Tielemans' sloppy pass and in a bid to retrieve the ball, the Leicester player fouls the Scotland international. Booking.
- Yellow cardMatthew CashAston Villa
Yellow card! Cash goes into the book for the most blatant foul on Barnes you will ever see.
Grealish looks like he's fouled - again - but manages to stay on his feet and Trezeguet then forces Villa's first corner of the game. McGinn's delivery doesn't beat the first man.
Castagne clatters into Grealish, but escapes a booking.
Superb tackle! Konsa's pass lands Villa in a world of trouble, but Cash makes a wonderful last-ditch tackle to deny Praet.
Another promising Leicester attack breaks down. Some of their approach play has been fine, but the final ball is letting the hosts down all too often. This time Praet gets too much on his cross.
- Yellow cardJohn McGinnAston Villa
Targett aims the ball into the Leicester penalty area, but the hosts deal with it and Barnes then leads the counter-attack. McGinn takes one for the team and goes into the book for a cynical foul.
- Yellow cardAyoze PérezLeicester City
Yellow card! Perez goes into the book. No prizes for guessing the player he fouled. Yes, Grealish.
Castagne drops the shoulder and gets away from Targett quite beautifully as Leicester attack once more. His deep cross is headed clear by Cash.
It took some time for Villa to get started, but they have managed to wriggle control from Leicester.
Just wide! McGinn sprays a lovely cross-field pass to Targett on the left. He feeds Grealish, whose low cut back finds Trezeguet. He gets a shot way despite pressure from Justin but it's sent just wide! He's appealing for a penalty, but the referee isn't interested.
Save! And at the other end, Iheanacho curls a shot from 25 yards out but Martinez makes a decent save.
Villa break as the game comes to life. Grealish leads the charge. McGinn floats a ball over the defence, trying to find Trezeguet, who makes a clever run, but Schmeichel is out to smother the danger.
Chance! Iheanacho holds play up which allows Castagne to make the run on the overlap. Cash and Barnes come together off the ball inside the penalty area but play continues and the full-back has space... but Martinez saves his shot from an acute angle.
Schmeichel's kicking has been excellent.
Grealish is fouled - as he often is - by Praet, as Villa enjoy a spell of possession. The Englishman takes the free-kick himself but it's too close to Schmeichel.
Schmeichel plays an inch-perfect pass to Castagne, who drives forward with some pace. His pass rolls through to James on the left flank, but a promising move breaks down as McGinn makes the challenge.
Both teams cancelling each other out, really. There isn't much space in midfield.
Douglas Luiz plays a sloppy pass into midfield, conceding possession, but McGinn is on the cover to wriggle the ball back off Perez.
Iheanacho is on his toes as he tries to latch onto a through ball. Martinez is alert to race off his line and clear his lines. Not sure if he was offside though.
Grealish feels he is fouled off the ball - but again the referee waves play on. Mendy swings in a cross but Villa deal with it effectively.
Leicester are knocking the ball around defence, inviting Villa to press high. The hosts have kept the ball well in the opening stages, though.
Fofana plays a lovely pass into the feet of Iheanacho, who drops deep. He feeds Harvey in a central area but his attempted pass to release Justin is poor and intercepted.
Fofana, only five minute into his Premier League debut, is going to be fine to continue, as Schmeichel takes the free-kick.
Fofana is down holding his face after a collision with Watkins, who may have caught the Leicester defender with his arm.
The first decent attack of the match comes from Leicester. Watkins goes down but play is allowed to continue. Tielemans switches it to Castagne on the overlap but his cross is poor and Villa survive.
How will Leicester cope without Jamie Vardy tonight? Iheanacho has six goals in six games against Villa, so he's a decent replacement.
Kick-off! The players take the knee and then Aston Villa get us underway!
FIVE minutes until kick-off at the King Power Stadium! It's Leicester versus Aston Villa in the Premier League. It's LIVE and it's NEXT!
Pre-match stat: None of Leicester's last eight Premier League matches have been drawn, with the Foxes winning four and losing four. They've shipped at least twice in six of those eight games (16 goals in total), keeping a clean sheet in the other two.
A place in second is up for grabs for both of these clubs, who are third and fourth respectively with nine points each. The winner tonight, if there is one, would move to within a point of early pacesetters Everton.
Absolutely anything can happen in this crazy league...
Pre-match stat: Leicester have won four of their last five Premier League meetings with Aston Villa, drawing the other. The Foxes had won just two of their previous 12 against them in the competition (D6 L4).
Brendan Rodgers: "We’ve started the season very well, winning three out of four games. The performance level in the first three games was very high in different types of games. Different performances were needed and we were very good in the attacking side and, defensively, we’ve got areas that we can work on, but in the main, we’ve been very good."
Aston Villa suffered a 4-0 defeat to Leicester back in March, just before football was suspended. That was a "watershed moment" claims Smith, who guided his side to safety. "It was just the way we felt sorry for ourselves in the last 15 minutes (at Leicester) and conceded a couple more goals, but it turned out to be a watershed moment,” said Smith. "We went into lockdown and certainly provided a memorable return to form after that.”
Smith keeps faith in the side that mauled Liverpool, which is no surprise. That means even Jack Grealish gets a game!
Brendan Rodgers makes three changes to the side that lost to West Ham. Wesley Fofana starts for the first time as he replaces the injured Caglar Soyuncu at centre-back. Jamie Vardy is also injured and he is replaced by Kelechi Iheanacho. Daniel Amartey makes way for Dennis Praet.
Leicester XI: Schmeichel, Castagne, Fofana, Evans, Justin, Mendy, Tielemans, Barnes, Praet, Perez, Iheanacho.. subs: Ward, Morgan, Under, Choudhury, Albrighton, Maddison, Slimani. /// Aston Villa XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Targett, Luiz, McGinn, Barkley, Grealish, Trezeguet, Watkins.. subs: Steer, Engels, El Mohamady, El Ghzai, Hourihane, Nakamba, Traore.
