CHANCE! Somehow Mahrez misses the target one-on-one with Sanchez.
Davy Propper volleys straight at Ederson. Decent effort, but not troubling him.
Foden goes down in the area under a challenge from Veltman. Referee, and VAR, unmoved. Looked like a push to me.
Mac Allister's passing hasn't been as sharp since the break. Brighton are struggling to break out of their own half.
Burn blocks Mahrez's path after De Bruyne played him in. Good ball by Dias to open the game up.
No changes for either side at the break, but Mahrez looks like he is down the middle flanked by Silva and Foden.
Second half is about to get underway!
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME! Brighton have been good, but thwy're still behind after Foden's eighth goal of the season a minute before the break.
- GoalPhil FodenManchester City
GOOOOOOAAAAL!!! What a lovely strike by Foden. He cushions it into the near post after being found by De Bruyne. Cruel on Brighton, 1-0 City.
TACKLE! Dan Burn wins the ball from Cancelo, who had reached the byline.
Gundogan fires De Bruyne's kick wide.
Trossard's corner is collected by Ederson, eho quickly sets a counter in motion. De Bruyne forces Sanchez into another save.
Brighton have a corner, conceded by Rodri.
This has been impressive by Brighton so far. They're defending well but not afraid to commit on the counter attack, either. Man City need to step it up, despite all their possession.
WHAT A PASS! De Bruyne's threaded cross, looking for Mahrez, is cleared by Bernardo.
De Bruyne finds space on the edge of the area after being played in by Mahrez. His shot is blocked by Webster.
With every Brighton player in the box, De Bruyne hits it and Mac Allister blocks.
Chance for City from a free kick after Webster backpasses to Sanchez. It is in the Brighton area.
CLOSER! Mahrez can't quick connect with De Bruyne's cross-field pass. Better from City.
CHANCE! Mahrez's brilliant cross is met by Gundogan, but Veltman clears before he can find Foden.
Foden's corner is eventually fired back in by De Bruyne, but his strike is held by Sanchez.
WIDE! Trossard curls an effort off target after being found by Mac Allister.
Brighton have passed their first checkpoint, No quick start from City in the first 15 minutes.
SAVE! Sanchez denies De Bruyne after he plays a quick one-two with Gundogan. Much better from the hosts.
Trossard gets the ball from Ben White and crosses to the back post. Joel Veltman meets it, but shoots over.
Leandro Trossard is receiving treatment after a clash with Joao Cancelo. He looks okay.
The home side really need to find more intensity and rhythm. Far too easy for Brighton to get into shape and break out of defence.
Lovely turn by Mahrez sees City build a first real attack. It ends with Oleksandr Zinchenko driving the ball towards goal, but his effort is blocked.
Brighton are hurrying City and it is paying off. Good start by the visitors.
At the other end, Gundogan and Foden link up well but a heavy touch by the former sees Brighton given a goal kick.
Brighton pushing from the start, with Tau involved. They won the ball high, but Propper's pass is poor.
- 1st Half
Kick off! Brighton get us underway.
BT Sport have Silva in the middle and De Bruyne up front.
Man City have never lost to Brighton in the PL and are looking for a seventh straight win. Teams are coming out, Here we go!
Less than 10 minutes to go!
Brighton's legs will be tired after extra time and penalties in the FA Cup at the weekend. I really is going to be a tough night for them.
Three goals in four PL games for Ilkay Gundogan, can he add to that tonight?
Less than half an hour until kick off at the Etihad. One thing that will be interesting to see from the hosts' perspective is how they use the width of the pitch with only one natural winger on the pitch. That being Riyad Mahrez. Phil Foden is no stranger to playing out wide, but Brighton will try to condence them as much as possible.
Brighton have earned plaudits for their style of play this season, but are really looking over their shoulders. Just three points separate them from the bottom three, with Fulham in 18th having two games in hand.
Victory for Pep Guardiola tonight will take his side third, level on points with Liverpool and just three points behind rivals and leaders Manchester United.
City, meanwhile, have looked back to their scintillating best in recent weeks. They have found their scoring boots after a tough start to the season, but maintained their defensive solidity. In their last six in all comps, they've scored 15 and conceded just two. That is ominous for Brighton.
This will no doubt be a really tough evening for Graham Potter's side. It'll be interesting to see how Percy Tau and Alexis Mac Allister get on behind Leandro Trossard. The Seagulls are winless in their last six in all competitions.
Here is the Brighton set up.
Looks like Beernardo Silva is up front and central tonight for Man City. Kevin De Bruyne is captain.
