Good afternoon and welcome to our live text coverage of the Premier League match between Newcastle and Spurs from St James' Park! A 3-0 loss to fellow relegation candidates Brighton before the international break brought Newcastle even closer to the danger zone in 17th place and just two points above Fulham. Meanwhile, a north London derby loss to Arsenal and a humiliating Europa League exit at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb both ruined what seemed to be an upturn in form for Spurs, who find themselves in seventh. We will be bringing you all the build-up, highlights and talking points from the match tonight, so stay tuned ahead of kick-off at 14:05.

FULL-TIME: Newcastle 2-2 Spurs
Credit where credit's due. Steve Bruce has deservedly received a lot of stick from Newcastle fans, but he set the team up positively today and thought outside of the box with his team selection. They created the wealth of opportunities and weirdly, they might be slightly disappointed with a draw, for which they only have their poor finishing to blame. Spurs defended poorly and Vinicius and Son having quiet performances limited their efficacy in attack, but could Mourinho have done more? Probably.

CHANCE!! Lamela struggles to control Reguilon's cross towards the far post and ends up hitting it into the side netting. Should've tried a rabona!
89'
It seems not! Bale's free-kick goes well over and into the solar system.
88'
Gareth Bale is on and his first touch will be to take a free-kick. Can he make an instant impact?

OFF THE POST!!! Lamela plays in Kane on the break and he whacks the outside of the post with a thunderous effort! So close to getting that hattrick.

Another Newcastle change. This time it's Javier Manquillo on for Murphy, who's had a bit of cramp in recent minutes.

Attacking change for Newcastle. Joe Willock is on for Krafth, who's been shambolic today. Suspect that means they're reverting to a back four.

CLOSE!! Ndombele slides the ball through to Kane and there's no one near him but he can't get the ball out of his feet and Dubravka makes a crucial stop to claim it.

CHANCE!! Joelinton wastes probably the best chance of the game! That's an awful miss! He brought down Krafth's cross beautifully then sent a weak shot far wide despite being unmarked.
67'
OFF THE LINE!! Lo Celso's corner is punched out by Dubravka but only as far as Tanganga whose powerful header is cleared off the line by Almiron! Newcastle living dangerously now.
65'
Lamela's first act is to win a free-kick, getting dragged by Dummett, who ends up in the referee's book as a result.

Corner lands in the box uncomfortably for Spurs, Gayle finds an inch of space and hacks a shot in search of the bottom left corner. Joelinton gets a late touch on it to send it marginally wide but he's ruled offside anyway.
60'
It's been a very subdued 10 minutes, so probably a good time for Newcastle to make a change. Corner delayed bizarrely by Lloris needing to change his left boot!
55'
Ritchie is down in pain. He'll try to run it off but might have to come off soon otherwise.
