Foden on target as City beat Brentford to open up eight-point lead
End of 2nd Half
Phil Foden's 16th minute goal proves the difference as Manchester City beat a brave Brentford to move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The City forward almost seals it but sees his shot from an acute angle saved by Fernandez.
THREE minutes will be added on!
THIS GAME IS NOT OVER YET!
That decision has given the Brentford supporters a lift. Time is running out but they may only need one chance to draw level.
GOAL RULED OUT!
Laporte thinks he has doubled City's advantage with a textbook header from De Bruyne's free-kick delivery - but his celebrations are cut short. VAR rules he is marginally offside.

THOMPSON IS INJURED
He's in some pain and needs to go off. Saman Ghoddos is his replacement.
Brentford supporters sing 'Boring, boring City'. If the visitors are able to hold on for all three points here they won't care one bit about this below-par performance.
De Bruyne's free-kick delivery forces a corner. Foden's cross falls kindly for Fernandinho but he shoots high into the stands.
Mads Bidstrup comes on for Onyeka.
TITLE RACE ALL BUT OVER?
BRENTFORD WIN A CORNER
The noise is turned up a notch as the hosts win a corner. Pinnock tries his luck but it's blocked and Ederson is able to catch a cross moments later.
PEP IS LOOKING AGITATED
City may be leading but they haven't been at their best tonight and the Brentford supporters believe their side can still spring a surprise here.
Wissa makes way for Sergi Canos.
DE BRUYNE SHOOTS OVER
A poor effort from distance from the Belgium international - it's never troubling Fernandez.
OFF THE POST!
De Bruyne's powerful shot has Fernandez rooted to the spot and the Brentford goalkeeper can only watch on as the ball crashes off the post.
Jensen launches it into a crowded City penalty area but Laporte is in position to head clear.
CITY'S ATTACK COLLAPSES
Cancelo stands up a teasing ball into the box but there's no takers and Brentford have a goal-kick. The hosts will be delighted that City have not been able to add to their early lead and if it stays 1-0 for the next 10 or 15 minutes then Brentford can give this a really good go.
Cancelo concedes possession cheaply and Baptiste pounces, shooting from range. However, Ake is in the way and charges it down.
