Danny Welbeck came off the bench to score a brilliant header in injury time with Brighton snatching a 1-1 draw at Chelsea last month.

The Seagulls make three changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Friday Night Football. Adam Lallana misses out through injury, while Neal Maupay and Leandro Trossard start on the bench.

Tariq Lamptey comes straight back into the XI against his former club, with Steven Alzate and Danny Welbeck also included from the start.

Mason Mount is back in the XI after being surprisingly benched for the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in favour of Hakim Ziyech.

Malang Sarr, Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic drop to the bench, with Jorginho, and Callum Hudson-Odoi starting.

Asked whether he was on the receiving end of Mason Mount's burning eyes, Thomas Tuchel: "Yeah, I got them and this is absolutely normal.

"But it’s still within Mason’s character of kindness and being polite and being respectful, so there is no harm in this."

He added: "I get the eyes, I get the look.

"I know the look, of course. He (Mount) is here to play these kinds of matches, but we were simply opting for runners.

"He’s not happy about it, but it will not last long because everyone loves Mason - me included."

On the absence of the injured Adam Lallana, Brighton boss Graham Potter said: "It is always disappointing when we lose a player.

"I don't think it will be serious to be honest. It will keep him out of this one and maybe for the weekend (Leicester), we will see.

"When you play Chelsea, in that area of the pitch, it is so hard to control and do that. He will be a miss for that but it will be a chance for others to come in and take that chance.

"All year we have had players missing, key players - Danny [Welbeck] Lewis [Dunk] Adam Webster, Yves Bissouma and we have managed to find ways and that is credit to the guys.

"You cannot be successful with XI you have to have a group that is ready to fight."

Chelsea drew 1-1 with Brighton last month after a late Lukaku header. Since then the Blues have won twice, drawn twice and lost to Man City.

The Seagulls have played only three times since drawing with Chelsea and are unbeaten since losing to Wolves in mid-December.
