Good morning, or what’s left of it! Welcome to live coverage of Liverpool versus Burnley from Anfield. You may well remember the last time Anfield was full and popping for a meaningful game – it was on 11 March 2020, as the Reds ceded their European crown in a humdinger of a second leg in the Champions League knockout stages against Atletico Madrid. Who knew then that these famous stands would be barren for the 17 months that followed? That’s all changed now though, and hopefully for good. Burnley are back at Anfield today, for the first time since scoring a landmark victory at the deserted stadium in January. The 1-0 victory by Sean Dyche’s team that day sent Jurgen Klopp’s team into a tailspin where they lost six Premier League matches in a row at Anfield after being unbeaten there in league fixtures for almost four years. So what will we get today? Whatever it is, it’ll be backed by a proper wall of noise at Anfield for the first time in 528 days. Welcome home, Liverpool; team news

WELL SAVED! What a chance for Burnley! They win a header in midfield, Rodriguez clips it through to Barnes first time and he's in. Barnes opens up and aims for the bottom corner, but Alisson pulls off an excellent save to deny him.
90+2'
A late chance for Burnley; Barnes reverses a ball to Rodriguez in the area, which Van Dijk gets in well to block. From the corner, Mee heads over from eight yards out.
Susbstitution news: Gomez replaces Tsimikas for Liverpool.
90+1'
Thiago glides forwards for Liverpool, throwing a stepover in to entertain the crowd, before reversing a pass to Firmino in the area. Firmino shoots, but it's weak and Pope gathers comfortably. We'll have a minimum of four additional minutes.
89'
It looks like Joe Gomez is coming on for Liverpool, as this game drifts to it's conclusion.
86'
CHANCE! Elliott nine irons a ball over the top for Salah, who breaks into the box on the right at pace. He crosses to Mane, who has a tap in but the ball runs through his legs and away.
85'
Lowton up and unders a ball into the Liverpool area; this time Alisson meets it perfectly and punches the ball to safety.
83'
Tsimikas has had a useful game for Liverpool, and leaps in to win a loose ball on the left. He could slide Mane through but opts to cross instead, and Burnley clear.

Erik Pieters replaces Gudmundsson for Burnley.
79'
Alexander-Arnold almost releases Mane with a long ball over the top, but it skips through to Pope.
75'
Salah cuts in from the right, and he has a chance to shoot; he can't get around the shot enough though, and his curler to the far corner goes harmlessly wide.
75'
Jay Rodriguez replaces Chris Wood for Burnley.
73'
Alexander-Arnold plays a lovely ball in to the back post. Pope misses it but Matip can't divert his header on target, and Van Dijk's follow up is hacked clear. Burnley could go under by a fair few here if they're not careful.
72'
Elliott piles forwards on the right, and is fortuitous to win a free kick on the right edge of the area after what looked a clean tackle from Mee.
71'
That was a superbly constructed goal, and no less than Liverpool deserve. They've taken this over in the second half.

GOAL! Liverpool 2 (Mane 69) Burnley 0
A superb move for Liverpool, and that should be the game. Van Dijk switches play to the right to Elliott, who finds Alexander-Arnold in the inside right channel. Alexander-Arnold flicks it through first time to Mane, all alone in the area, who instantly drills his shot past Pope.

Respite for Burnley as they get forward through Gudmundsson down the right. He whips a cross into the area but Tarkowski can only glance the ball behind for a goal kick.

A couple of chances in the last seven minutes, for Salah and Mane, just as my computer crashed; the latter was blocked heroically by McNeil, while Pope diverted Mane's shot away. Liverpool are knocking here, and Mane has just put a soft, free header straight at Pope.
58'
CHANCE! Liverpool win a corner, which is a looped outswinger to the penalty spot. Van Dijk bobbles a volley back towards goal, where it flashes off the shins of Mee or Mane, no one is sure, and a yard wide. A goal kick is given.
56'
This is better from Liverpool. Alexander-Arnold fires a ball in to Jota on the edge of the area, who shifts it through to Mane on the run. Mane tries to swivel and shoot in one movement, but doesn't quite connect properly and it dribbles through to Pope.
