A second half equaliser from Greenwood earned a well battled point for both sides at St Mary's today. Southampton came close to a winner from Armstrong, but a fine save from De Gea kept United in the game.

ARMSTRONG WITH A HUGE CHANCE! Che Adams pounces on a wasteful ball and sets Armstrong up one on one in front of goal. Armstrong slots the ball into the far right corner but De Gea palms the ball wide. Good save.

SUBSTITUTION: Djenepo makes way for Diallo

The ball is cleared away well by the Southampton defence.

Foul by Djenepo, who catches the leg of Fernandes, The free kick sits 20 yards away from the right corner flag. Can they convert?

United are knocking on the door! Wan-Bissaka sets up Fernandes who does well to produce a venomous header. His effort forces a good save out of McCarthy. Southampton hold on.

Pogba comes close..The Frenchman is really finding some rhythm now. Greenwood sets Pogba up on the edge of box, who manages to dance away from the Southampton defence and drag a shot beyond the bottom right corner, just wide of the post.

Jadon Sancho comes on to replace Martial.

GOAL GREENWOOD! It all starts with Paul Pogba. Pogba strides into the box and produces a slick one-two with Fernandes to set up Greenwood. Greenwood strikes a low ball through the legs of Salisu and into the back of the net, who seems to be blocking the vision of McCarthy. McMarthy will probably feel he should of done more to stop that one.

Chance for Livramento! Che Adams cuts a beautifully set ball back to Livramento, who finds himself in acres of space in front of goal. The young right back strikes the ball wildly and his effort flies over the bar.
